Oh, this is painful.
In order to make the changed that need to be made in the last arc-and-a-half of Beneath a Beating Sun, I have to gut a lot of the writing I've already done so I can replace it with tighter structure. This includes ditching a scene I really like very much, because there's no way to casually segue into "By the way, let's have a nice reminiscence about my very good dead friend" in the middle of "ohgod ohgod we're all gonna die!"!
My darlin's need killin', I guess.
I think I should start refereing to BaBS as "The Fic Of The Amazing Shrinking Wordcount And Rising Bodycount." But I won't.
