After almost exactly a week and several false starts, I got a new driver license and can now legally drive until 2012. But only March 19, 2012, so I'll have to get a new one so that I can keep driving the nine-months-and-two-days until the world ends. It was fun. I got to bus down to Sycamore, run across a bunch of busy intersections because I forgot the bus dropped me off right outside the Eastdate Plaza, fill in forms, pass a written test by the skin of my teeth, and get my picture taken. (I look kinda like an elf. Not one of the pretty ones, though; more like a squinty Puckish elf who's totally about to grow flowers where you don't want 'em, or something. I think I should make it my business to look vaguely evil from now on in any official photos I have to take; it always winds up happening anyway.)
