I think I'm going to go with my "How I Met Your Mother" script. I spent yesterday punching it up, but I still don't feel like it is as good as my "Office." And I'm scared that it will never be. I mean my "Office" won a contest. Can I pull something off like that again?
Here's what the guy said that put me in touch with Madhouse:
"And take your time with the spec - if you're going to land Madhouse, it has to be as good as you can make it. Better to take longer and get it right."
And here's what my old TV Writing professor said:
"Another piece of advice...try to crank out the script, but don't rush it....if this script doesn't live up to the other one, they likely won't sign you."
I'm just really scared. I'm so close. I don't want to kill it.
Thanks to everyone who offered to read my script. Is there anyone else that has free time this week that would like to help me? You can be as brutal as possible -- point out stuff that doesn't work, a joke that's not entirely funny, or opportunities that I could be funny but am not. And definitely spelling and stuff like that. I'll owe you so much if you help!
