Baby Samuel Aidan was born at 4:12pm on Thursday afternoon in a pool of water in our living room.  Daddy caught him.  Birth story and adorable baby pics to come.

We missed Liturgy yesterday morning.  No particular reason.  I think we were all just really tired.  I napped for a good portion of the day and spent the remaining portions yawning.  It looks like today might be pretty similar.  Then again, I haven't taken any of my vitamins -- iron supplements, B vitamins, fish oil, calcium, and prenatals.  If I ( Read more... )

I could give birth right now and my baby would not be premature.

I learned this morning that my midwife, who is also pregnant, is on permanent bed rest until the end of her pregnancy.  So, unless she gives birth prematurely, she most likely will not be attending my birth.  Her own midwife will likely serve as her backup, so that gives me some ( Read more... )

Since I'm pregnant, my reading materials of choice over the last few weeks have been more birth books.  I've recently read my way through a couple that I wanted to read when I was pregnant with Isaac, but didn't have the funds or initiative to purchase.  They are now my favorite childbirth books, and I would recommend them to anyone.   Ina May ( Read more... )
