Nostalgia...
So, I have this milkcrate beside my desk that was full of my sketch books and such. I haven't drawn anything in ages. AGES. over a year at least. And my knitting books/magazine are shoved in beside this milkcrate in a space the collection is rapidly outgrowing. I don't access those sketch books at all, and the knitting books all the time..
So I pulled an old suitcase from under my bed and decided to put the sketch books in there, so to free up the milkcrate for knitting books/magazine storage...
of course, being me, I couldn't just haphazardly move things about.. no, I had to look through all these books ;)
Some stuff was very familiar, some stuff I had forgotten I had done... there was some stuff people had drawn for me, stuff I had drawn for others.. Overall, though, I was mostly struck by the observation that at one point, I was kind of good at that whole drawing thing ;P I'd forgotten how many goofy little comics I had drawn... these days I have issues drawing anything beyond an angry Scribble Of Frustration ;P
It almost made me want to take up drawing again :) But then I think about how much knitting I wish I had time to do ;P Any creative time I can find, I devote to knitting... I enjoyed drawing, and when I did it a lot I got kind of good at it, but I enjoy knitting more and I just don't have the free time I used to have :(
aaaannnnyway. this is why it takes me all summer to get my room back in order after the end of a school year. I take far to long to clear out one milkcrate :P
