Nostalgia...

So, I have this milkcrate beside my desk that was full of my sketch books and such. I haven't drawn anything in ages. AGES. over a year at least. And my knitting books/magazine are shoved in beside this milkcrate in a space the collection is rapidly outgrowing. I don't access those sketch books at all, and the knitting books all the time ( Read more... )

Post some pics?

I keep wanting to draw, have sketchbooks and the like; I keep thinking I'll keep a sketch diary with sketches of what I do during the day...or I'll make a nature sketchbook...or I'll just draw when I'm sitting somewhere...then I remember that I suck at it and get frustrated and don't. I have a couple simple sketches that aren't too bad (here, for example, is one I did a couple years ago while sitting in class), but I can't draw (or paint, etc.) anything complex--that includes forests, landscapes, etc.). Which means I don't bother with most subjects.

a lot of more recent/better stuff can be found in this gallery.

I have no patience for sketching the things around me, and do get very frustrated :P I tended more towards drawing silly comics of things I or my cats did ;P

Oh, now when it comes to comics...I do stick figures pretty well. :)

I have a bunch of comics I drew of me and my ex, and one time when my Comm prof was talking about "social roles" in class it inspired me and I did a whole series based on different stuff he said about it (like "role has effect" and "disruptive roles" and all that)...the stars of the comics were dinner rolls--social rolls, y'know--for example, "social rolls" were them sitting in the breadbasket talking, the "roll has effect" one had a roll jumping from the basket onto a knife and flinging the butter, the "disruptive rolls" had them all at a movie theater and a couple of them were talking during the movie...at the end of the year, I drew them all on my answer sheet or whatever on my final exam and gave them to him.

OMG. I just about fell off my chair laughing at the Charlie Cat comics. I had to bookmark it so I could look at the rest of them when I have more time.

Wish I could have a DeviantArt, might be fun...but alas, I have no scanner and do not know anyone who has one. And my mom's camera takes shitty enough pictures that I couldn't photograph them (I could use the one at work, which is much better, BUT I'm not going to be there that much longer, so...).

I did that with the pics on my computer (going through them with the intent of cleaning) and ended up adding one or two things on my deviantart site. I have more, but I didn't like the pics! As for school, I'm moving back home tomorrow (from Mike Bank's appartment)and since I'm taking summer school, that's at big distraction that I don't need with two exams next week, not looking forward to all the cleaning that's going to be associated with that!

oo.. that is bad timing! I would get NO studying done if there was moving/cleaning/organizing to be done ;)
(s'why i never study at home... it's amazing how motivated I get to clean when the alternative is to study ;) )
