I felt like at the end that when Michael 'scrubbed her' he stuck in the idea in her head that she loves angels and believes that they are watching over her children. Which her maternal feelings made into something good and wonderful -- hence her always telling Dean that Angel's are watching over him when he was younger.

They made it all creepy and wrong. So our show.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this episode.

Yes, I think the darker reading makes more sense too -- SPN would hardly be that sentimental.

GOD YES THIS EPISODE. I needed this.

Can't get over Dean so quick on the draw with the "Fix him!" Plus Michael was intriguingly sympathetic; Dean's own Lucifer. Makes me wanna capslock. I loved Matt Cohen in this ep. LOVED.

Matt Cohen rocked this episode. Showing that who the nice innocent civilian John was, wasn't all that far off the John we know and love. Sigh.

And yeah I loved Dean's "Fix him"

That was my reading as well. It was by far the creepiest moment I've ever seen on the show.

He's still getting v. little screen time, but something about it feels like high quality angel porn.

Castiel was basically the Elizabeth Shue character. At least they didn't leave him in an alley. :p

I see the show hasn't forgotten where I keep my narrative kinks.

Okay this is one of my stupid things in life but, Elisabeth Shue spells it with an S. S. Thanks Rachel Elisabeth (see S). LOL. I'm the same way about Rachel spelled Rachael (actually I'm worse because spelled that way you would think it should rhyme with Michael, which it does not!)

Okay, I need to go bed, done ranting.

I adore Elisabeth Shue -- she's owned my heart since Adventures in Babysitting. :D I didn't realize she spelled her name with an "s." Have to remember that!

EEEEEE! All of this. I'm very glad to hear your squee is renewed.

I FREAKED OUT when Michael came in. For two seconds I thought God was healing John out there and I was like shoooooww???! and then it was AWESOME INSTEAD.

And and and yeah. I was O_O pretty much all the way through.

Also Sam was terrible at pretending to be some random relative. It was precious.

Haha, I completely freaked out. I pretty much loved the whole episode (except for my small resigned periodic sighs of aggravation re: Anna's treatment) and then Michaeled-up John walked in and I FLIPPED OUT. Wheeee!

I have lots of O.O. And a case of whiplash!

Saaaam! When he shook John's hand and wouldn't let go and he kept staring at Mary and it was dear and funny and also sad and then his conversation with John akdflasja;kfjs k;aajssssl

My pet theory is that while John has the Michael bloodline, Mary would also have been a potential vessel.

the show is actually good at creating female characters and making them fairly awesome; but the landings are awful

Yes. This. That's it in a nutshell.

So the Michael vessels are a specific bloodline just for Michael, but Mary may also be from a vessel bloodline?

Oh dear god, Lucifer's vessel bloodline via Mary??

I think Castiel knew very little at the start of S4, he didn't know The Big Plan regarding Lucifer and Michael and Sam and Dean, but he was probably told something about Dean being from a vessel bloodline...hence his confusion when Dean couldn't communicate with his true form.

And then Dean is of a vessel bloodline...only the type Castiel can't communicate with/use. He's just Michael's.

Sam and Dean seemed like two people who knew they were trapped together in the worse mess imaginable but if they had to be stuck with someone, they're glad it's each other, as opposed to the way they've been seeming, which is that the second the horrible mess is over they'll never want to talk to each other again.

This! I just wrote to someone in my LJ that this was the most Sam and Dean have felt like brothers to me since Dean came back from hell. The drink they shared at the end felt like it was necessary, not only for the alcohol, but so they could have a moment together. It was kind of like what Dean talked about last week, how they never do that kind of thing anymore. This week they did, but they weren't exactly celebrating a successful hunt.

Wonderful ep. Your squeeing was earned.

Yes! I am feeling a bit befuddled, the show is being kind of uneven -- we have nothing to show how we got from 5x12 to how they are here BUT I DON'T EVEN CARE! Because this was my Sam and Dean. *smishes them* And Dean with the FIX HIM. He didn't even hesitate ( ... )
