I guess I should state that this is really only half directed at this particular post. I've been seeing too many "There's something seriously wrong with my [fill in type of pet here], but I don't have the money/too lazy/don't really want to go to the vet to actually get professional's opinion" posts, both on LJ and in other places as well.
It's sort of grating on my nerves at the moment.
