A diferent meaning [Onew x Key] (SHINee)
I was working with this on Tuesday but suddenly I ran out of ideas. But finally I could finish it :D

It was a normal evening, it should have been a normal evening, but the mood was too tense. Minho didn’t know where to look so he didn’t look up from his plate, but he couldn’t help but to stare at his friends from time to time.
“Hey, Jong” he whispered. Jonghyun, sitting next to Minho, looked at him discreetly “Do you know what’s going on?”
“Not sure” Jonghyun whispered. He was going to say something else but then Taemin walked into the room, apparently without noticing the tension of his band mates.
“Hi” he said. Key looked up from his dinner and glared at the youngest.
“You’re late” he said angry. Taemin blinked, surprised by Key’s tone.
“Ah, sorry” Taemin said “but the manager wanted me to finish recording my part of the song and I…”
“I don’t care” Key interrupted him “You should have been here a half an hour ago”
“Key umma I was at work” Taemin said, taking a step back and trying to defend himself.
“Key, calm down” Onew talked for the first time “He’s now here so you don’t have to worry”
“Don’t tell me to calm down” Key shouted “Mind on your own business”
“If you have not notice it is my business.” Onew said “You’re screaming at Taemin without reason. Why are you so angry?”
“Because we have a schedule and we must stick to it” Key replied
“I still don’t understand why you are so angry” Onew said calmly.
“Oh of course you don’t understand” Key said bitterly “You never get anything”
“Did I do something wrong?” Onew asked, frowning. Key raised an eyebrow.
“I don’t know did you?” he said before leaving the room. Onew snorted.
“Could you tell me what the hell was that?” Jonghyun asked staring at Taemin (who still was in shock) while Minho tried to calm him down.
“I just don’t get him” Onew said, running his hands through his hair “This morning when I talked to him he was in bad mood already”
“What did he say exactly?” Minho said caressing Taemin’s back.
“He asked me if I had any plans for today and I said no” Onew mumbled “Then he pouted and when I asked him what happened he told me to figure it out by myself and left”
Jonghyun, Taemin and Minho exchange a glance.
“Onew oppa” Taemin said quietly “Today isn’t your anniversary?”
Onew blinked, surprised.
“Today?”
“Yes, today is eleventh” Taemin said. Onew stood up suddenly
“Damn” he mumbled. Jonghyun sighted.
“Why you always do this?” he asked, exasperated “You always forgot to do something and Key always gets angry with you”
“It’s not always” Onew said ashamed.
“It is” Minho said frowning.
“Why don’t you go and apologize” Taemin suggested “Kibum always forgives you”
Minho and Jonghyun couldn’t help but smile, but Onew seemed worried.
“I don’t think he do it now” he said “He really is upset with me”
“Well, you could start by talking to him” Minho said “You know, give him an apology”
Onew thought about it for a moment and nodded. Then he walked out of the room.
“Should we go and watch that Key don’t kill him?” Taemin asked a little concerned.
“He’ll be fine” Jonghyun assured him “He always is”

“Key” Onew called him, knocking the door “Come on Kibum. Please open de door”
“Go away” Key screamed from the other side of the door.
“I’m sorry I forgot our anniversary” Onew said “If you let me in, I’ll repay you”
“I don’t want you to ‘repay me’” Key said.
“Okay, fine, I’ll do whatever you want me to do but please open the door”
“I don’t want you to do ‘whatever I want’” Key said.
“Then what?” Onew asked desperate “I’m trying to apologize Key”
“If you want me to forgive you better start acting like you care about our relationship”
Onew sighed.
“I do care about our relationship” he said
“I don’t think so” Key replied “You always do the same”
“Always”, Onew began to hate that word.
“Come on Kibum, open the door” Onew asked “I feel lame talking to your door”
Key didn’t answer. Onew sighted again and dropped to the floor with his back leaning against the door while trying to think what he could do for him to forgive.

Next day the tense atmosphere was still there. At dinner time the five of them were sitting in their own places, eating slowly and without making a single noise while everyone stared (trying to be discreet) at Key.
It was awkward to say the least but Key was trying his best to not seem upset. It was hard because the glances of his peers made him nervous, so he decided to end the matter once and for all.
“Taemin?” he called the youngest. Taemin looked at him, suddenly startled “I’m sorry I yelled at you yesterday”
“It’s fine, Key umma” Taemin assured him, relaxing a little “I guess this wasn’t your fault”
Minho gave him a nudge. Key sighed.
“I was angry and I got even with you” he said.
“Everything is fine” Taemin said smiling. Onew stood up suddenly.
“Could you please stop this?” he told Key “I’m sorry, I mean it”
“I know” Key sighed. Onew looked at him, confused.
“Then why are you still angry?” he asked.
“It’s not like I’m angry” Key said “I’m disappointed. Yesterday was supposed to be special but you forgot it like always and…”
“Please stop saying that I always forget everything” Onew interrupted him “I don’t do that”
“Yes you do” Key said sternly “Two weeks ago, when you invited me to that restaurant you arrived an hour late, when we first started dating you called me and asked me to see you in the park when our date was supposed to be at the movies…”
“Yeah, but I do remember the first time I took your hand” Onew said walking towards him “And I remember that you like to cook the dinner because you like to do it and no because you think we are going to burn the house as you say. Also I know that you hate to be alone after seeing a horror movie or on our first date you were upset but you said that it had worth it…”
“Yeah but…” Key stuttered. Onew cupped his cheek.
“I know I’m clueless, but I do care about our relationship. I always do” he assured Key. Key couldn’t help but smile a little.
“I know it’s just that I… I wanted to have a normal date with you for once”
“We can have a normal date now if you want to” Onew said.
“I told you, this isn’t about what I want” Key said “It’s about what you want to do with me”
“Then why don’t we go to have dinner to some other place?” Onew said. Key blinked.
“Now?”
“Why not?” Onew asked smiling “Come on”
Onew took Key’s hand and left the house together, leaving their mates bewildered.
“Well, that was awkward” Jonghyun said. Taemin chuckled.
“At least it seem like they will be fine” he said.
“Do you think we should wait they arrive early?” Jonghyun asked. Minho smiled and shook his head.
“Maybe we shouldn’t wait for them to come tonight” Taemin said making his mates laugh.
So the three of them kept eating while Onew showed Key his definition of always.
