Nico Minoru peered down at the dark pool of water at her feet. She cast no reflection in the pool’s mirror like surface, which remained perfectly still even as she cut open her palm and let her blood mingle with the water.
“Show me,” she whispered, a chill wind springing up from nowhere to ruffle her hair. “Stop that,” she ordered, turning to where the two young apprentices thought they were hiding. “Go.”
The two children quietly shuffled out, hanging their heads and looking sullen. Nico would speak with them about this later, but at the moment, she had more important matters on her mind. She turned to the pool, watching Victor and Karolina plan their attack on the fortress like school in Westchester while Molly, Chase, and Klara mounted their defense along side the X-Men.
It broke Nico’s heart to see this, but she couldn’t get involved. She had to maintain her neutrality, for the sake of every magus, witch, wizard, and shaman who claimed shelter with her.
