I am not much interested in Demi Moore and Parker Posey's new movie, Happy Tears, nor am I all that interested in her as an actress.  She hasn't done much for me since her semi-smoldering office vixen in Disclosure, though even in that, she made the worst supposedly-menacing, file-cabinet-raiding avatar in film history.

Last night I had a dream that my phone was ringing and waking me up.  The ringtone was correct and everything.  It made me jump out of bed and go find my phone, which is usually on my nighttable.  But no call.  That's not really scary, but anything that wakes you up can be unsettling in that weird way.

Julia Child is, for me, someone I strongly associate with our beloved Nomie Sweeney, now about 12 years in heaven. Nomie was born in a little village outside of Cork, was soft-spoken and generally quiet (she spoke through her poetry), and a big fan of what we called Channel 2. This morning, I am getting watery just reading some of the reviews of UP, which I know I was tardy in seeing last night. My first thought watching this film was, "I am so glad I don't live in India." I know it is extremely closed-minded, but there are some places I would never want to go. Having some time on our hands this break, we did a lot of movie-watching, which was an excellent way to chill out.  The Christmas break is hard to get much done with, given all the holidays and gatherings.  I am not complaining about the break by any means, just sayin'.
