HP:: Just a thought.
"You're very charming when you want to be, Ginny Weasley."
"Thank you, I think." Ginny mumbled, unsure of just what it was that was charming.
It was one of those things she never would have noticed if she wasn't looking for it. But Hermione had nothing to occupy her attention except the drama inducing gossip going on with the other people at the table, something that she had no desire to know about. So she instead had quietly observed her two friends.
Ginny had just come in from her small shopping spree somewhere in Hogsmede, whom Hermione would not have noticed until she was upon the group, but she had seen Luna glance toward the door and the smile that appeared had not been one of her usual 'out there' kind. Hermione was about to roll her eyes at herself for thinking of something so ridiculous but as she continued to watch it started to add up.
The two younger girls had been chatting, or rather, Ginny had been talking as Luna listened and gave a few choice words here and there, when Ginny had paused and pulled a ripped piece of parchment from her pocket. The red-head had just remembered she'd found some item (something entirely strange that Hermione figured only Luna would find exciting) and had written its location and price down for Luna to have. Which had prompted Luna to say thanks, and then Ginny continued with her chatter. It wasn't until many minutes later when Luna had called Ginny charming, which made sense as to why Ginny was now confused at the compliment.
It really didn't mean anything, it could have meant nothing, but Luna generally had few expressions- her dazed day-dreaming one more common than the introspective one. The softness in her smile and the small blush when Ginny had reached out to steady the blond when someone had knocked into her chair had said something though. Not that the youngest Weasley had noticed, she had threatened to hex the large man that had caused Luna to be knocked around.
Hermione was pulled out of her visual inquisition when one of their table mates started asking questions about some of the work coming up. She made a mental not to speak with Luna later before focusing on the person next to her.

I really want to go all out on this scene but my friend and I are just now putting together the very idea of how this story will revolve lmao so that's all I'm gunna get out of it for now :D
