Callie grudgingly walked up the steps of her apartment building, grumbling to herself incoherently; the day had lasted far too long in her opinion not to mention the cheery nurses that flittered around everywhere with holiday glee.  Normally of which she may have, at one point in time, participated in or at least not scowled at every single nurse who tried to say one happy thing to her.  But when some idiot decided that it was perfectly ok to get drunk, before dark even, and then drive into a bus full of teenage girls amped for some kind of sport related event, the holiday cheer was not welcome.  Not to mention it forced her to cancel a dinner date with Arizona(who had been oddly scarce in the past week).

Hundreds of broken bones, four surgeries (as well as a million concerned, panicked and frightened parents) and shouting at residents to caste bones correctly Callie was ready to drop dead on her bed- fully clothed and all.  Or maybe an argument with Cristina to get out some frustration- that actually sounds a lot more entertaining…

Nearly running into the molding of the doorway Callie managed to fish out her keys from her bag, her hand paused mid-motion to unlock the apartment door.  Cocking her head to the side she tried to identify the sound she had just heard.  Gradually the soft tones of an acoustic guitar flowed through the door followed by a hesitant voice, too soft to make out clearly.  Callie, unsure of what would be revealed, opened the door slowly.

"Callie are you- what the…?" Cristina had apparently just gotten in as well, trying to push her way past Callie and into the apartment, but stopped as Callie had.  Both staring at the scene in front of them with confusion and a tiny semblance of awe.

Owen was sitting in the middle of the small couch, strumming an acoustic guitar and humming lowly while Arizona sat perched on the armrest softly singing along with Owen's tune.  Arizona stopped a few moments later, leaning down and crossing something out on a paper in front of her,  while Owen fiddled with some tuning.

"What are they doing?" Cristina whispered to a still surprised Callie.

Looking at Cristina questioningly Callie answered back in a whisper, "Uh, singing and playing a guitar?"

"No need to be bitchy." Cristina took in the scene for a few seconds more before asking another question, "She is gay right? Like really gay?  Because they're kind of close."

Unable to hold it in the Latina burst out with laughter, causing the musical duo to look up at the intrusion.  "Calliope!" Arizona said cheerily while bounding off the couch to greet her girlfriend at the door.  She gave a light kiss to the dark haired woman before untangling the scarf around her neck and hanging it up on the coat rack.  Arizona pulled Callie into the room while relieving her of her coat, purse and keys, essentially draining any gloomy aspect the Ortho Attending had previously.  Before she could utter a word Callie was forced to sit where Owen had previously occupied, Cristina following a few seconds later.

"What-"

Interrupting Cristina, Owen grinned as he nodded to Arizona, "I'll let you handle this."

"The Chief asked us to help out at our staff Holiday Party! Of course, I couldn't just say no and Owen mentioned he had a guitar so then I mentioned singing Christmas songs with the kids to make them feel better and giving them candy canes! Well paper ones because it wouldn't be fair to the ones that couldn't have candy if the other kids got it so it's so much bett-" Callie leaned forward and placed her fingers over Arizona's mouth, effectively stopping her rambling.

"You're only in trouble if you included me in this singing thing." Cristina nodded in agreement, looking wearily at a still grinning Owen.

"Well…"

"Arizona!"

"Not to worry, Dr. Torres.  Neither one of you will have to be singing.  Actually Cristina you've been made in charge of the drinks."

"I can live with that." Cristina stood and made a move towards the door, "Well no more practice tonight, Mer invited you and I to a stupidly late dinner.  Have fun Sapphic roomie." With a small wave Owen followed Cristina out the door.

"Did she just call me 'Sapphic roomie'?" Arizona only nodded, still looking like she was about to be in some major trouble.  Callie only looked at her, waiting for Arizona to come clean.

"Ok, I swear it isn't the singing, I mean it isn't really that bad!  It's just you know, they needed help to get stuff together and the Chief! He just stood there and did that thing, kind of what you're doing now only not as sexy.  Or not sexy at all, but scary and intimidating and all authority-like!  And with your new broadening skills I just thought-"

"Arizona…"

"Right, sorry, I kind of… maybe, sort of said that you could help with the cooking?"

"You what!?"

"I'm sorry!  But it was either that or singing and I figu-" Arizona didn't get any farther as a pair of lips descended upon her.  Not complaining one bit, the blond enjoyed the next couple of minutes that were taken over by soft, warm lips and some nibbling teeth.  Arizona pouted as the distraction moved away. "What was that for?"

"Because you sometimes talk too much and I love you." Callie's grin matched the one across Arizona's face, "That and even though you aren't that awesome at singing, you're still going to do it."

"Hey!" An indignant Arizona tackled a laughing Callie and the two playfully wrestled for a few minutes.  Arizona managed to pin Callie's hands above her head, although she suspected the Latina of simply letting the blond do so, and kissed the tip of her nose, "I love you too."

"Yeah…" Callie sighed wistfully, the declaration still amazed her even months after the words were first spoken.

Arizona smiled softly and pushed back a piece of Callie's hair, "Why don't we put this nice alone time to good use, hmm?"  She leaned down and captured Callie's lips once more.

"Let's."
