This is what happens

When you get informed that you're getting laid off, the longer before-hand you find out, the less likely it is to stay on-time.

I'm moving to working weekdays post-October 28th, and then there's no telling when I'll actually be leaving.

I'm confident that the weekend shift is actually getting the axe, and the rest of us were supposed to go late December or sometime January. Now there are vicious rumors flying around that it'll be February, even that we'll still be there a year from now.

They gave us permission to get overtime and doubletime to our heart's delight now though, so I'm working 70 hour weeks in the mean-time.

Severance still dangles like a carrot at the end of a theoretically infinite stick, and while I'm waiting I have a job and am making good money. Not to mention that the majority of the people who do the least work reside on my (weekend) shift, so at the end of October they'll all be gone, and that pleases me greater than words can express. Things are looking up.

On a side-note, fuck you Oxford dictionary for attempting to get rid of hyphens, you guys can suck my-balls.
