Yuck Day...Really Yuck Day
It has been a long and generally unpleasant day.
First we took a very cranky baby to a clinic that actually accepts tsykika's insurance. Definitely an ear infection.
From there, it was off to her work where she got a very unpleasant surprise. For calling in sick the last two days, he demoted her from hosting and cut her work schedule from six days to two. Now, I think this will blow over, but it really bothers me that a restaurant manager wants sick employees on the floor so badly that he'll take hours away when they call in sick. I don't want a sick hostess of server taking seating me or bringing me food. At any rate, he also didn't have her check.
Yea, passive-aggressive b.s.
And yes, she was VERY pissed.
For the moment, she's going to wait and see if it will blow over and work on other things she needs to do but has had problems finding time to get to.
As we leave there, boyo's school calls and wants me to pick him up because he's sick. So I do a u-y and go get him.
Finally get to Staples and pick everything except the iPod thing up, spent too much money, freaked the husband, and find out hours later that his check will be delayed a day.
*head desk*
THEN when I get home, storm headache and I'm dealing with a galley of a book that's not ready for publication. Tomorrow I let the editor and the author know it needs more work.
So, it's been a crazy day. My stress sugar consumption is through the roof.
But I might get some of my own work done this week after all. :P
