Briyani instead of ketupat (rice dumplings) for Eidul-Adha. Was so drained by the time mom and I finished cooking that I didn't have much appetite for lunch.
Today being Eidul-Adha, another major Islamic occasion in Singapore (for me, its bears more of a significance than the earlier Eidul-Fitri), the whole family awoke at 6am for fajr prayers and then proceeded to get dressed for Eid prayers at Masjid Al-iman, Bukit Panjang. What I liked about this year's takbir is that it was delivered both in Malay and English - to benefit the many non-malay speaking ummah who were also present for the morning prayers. I don't know if it was a sign of any sort, but it rained the whole day, even when we left the house at 7.15pm, it was still raining pretty heavily. Didn't get umbrellas from the car since it started to slow down to a drizzle when we reached. The prayer itself is something I look forward to, since its only twice a year that we get to recite the takbir. In fact, I did recordings of the takbir yesterday after Isya' prayers at the same mosque, as well as the khutbah during the morning eid prayers as well.

Subhanallah.
To my Muslim friends: Do fill the next few days with Takbir recitations, Allahu-Akhbar!
I hope my uncle and aunt are safely carrying out their pilgrimage in the holy land of Mecca. I want to go there again, it's been 7 long years. I miss being in Masjidil Haraam ;__;
