When she was a child, her governess had once told her that beauty was only skin deep. Pansy remembered saying how stupid that was and only ugly people believed such nonsense. The young woman's response to her cruel words had always haunted her. With pity in her eyes, she had pulled her into a warm hug and kissed the top of her head.

Just like Harry was doing right now.

The scene she had caused in the restaurant was one of epic proportions. Subtlety had never been her strong suit. Mentally, she cringed when she thought about how she had begged Blaise not to end their relationship. When he had tried to escape her embarrassing pleas, she had chased after him, ripping her new dress in the process. Finally, Blaise had resorted to harsh and hurtful words to stop her pursuit.

Now, she sat on a cold stone bench outside the restaurant. Her eyes were bloodshot and puffy from crying, and her nose was a bright shade of red. Her perfectly styled hairdo that had taken hours to create was now a frightful mess. Pieces of hair jutted out awkwardly in all directions.

She studied her dress and delicately patted down several wrinkles. She loved this dress. It was especially designed for her birthday celebration and now it was ruined. She was sure that even Reparo couldn't return the torn silk to its original state.

Harry was whispering comforting words in her ear. How could he be nice to her? She had been so selfish, telling him that she wanted to be just friends, so she could be free to pursue a more suitable relationship.

She looked up at Harry who smiled softly at her. He certainly wasn't dashingly handsome like Blaise was. As always, Harry’s hair was messy, his glasses were slightly crooked and he had questionable taste in dress robes.

But all that didn't matter. Harry was the one that was here with her when she was at her worst; telling her that Blasie was a fool and that she was beautiful. And she knew he meant it. Right now, even in her disheveled state, when he looked at her, his words were filled with sincerity.

She rested her head on his shoulder and took a few deep breaths. Her voice still shaky, she said, "Harry, take me home."
