Title: Discovery (3/4)
Prompt: Ohno/Jun Free Square
Pairing: Ohno/Jun, Jun/Nino friendship
Third in the Juntoshi Collar Universe
Sorry this chapter is shorter, but I think that it works well. One more in this four shot and we will be done!
Aiba was vibrating with energy the entire shoot. His laughter, and smile were infection on the shoot, and Jun was glad, for it made the shoot so much easier, when the wheels in Sho’s head were not turning. If Sho were to realize it in the middle of the shoot, then that could mean disaster for the shoot, as he was not sure if everyone would be able to maintain their composure. As it was Jun was having a hard time concentrating, his gaze drawn to the cuff that Ohno was wearing. He did not usually wear wrist cuffs, and he had a few of Jun’s rings on. It was distracting. And he felt as if he himself was missing something, with only one of the wrist cuffs on. Ohno caught Jun’s gaze as the shoot ended, and his eyes were sparkling with happiness.
“I am sorry for borrowing it. I am sure that it feels weird with only one.” Ohno commented lightly, walking over to Jun. As he walked he unfastened the wrist cuff, and Jun nodded back. He could feel the weight of the others on them, the photographers and all those there, and he could hear the shutter of a camera.
“Riida…” Jun spoke softly and Ohno smiled in return. Not speaking, though words hung between them. It will be alright. I promise. Ohno motioned slightly with a hand, and Jun obediently offered Ohno his wrist, letting the other fasten the cuff back on, enjoying the brushing of his fingers against his wrist, and Jun was certain that he had a stupidly happy look on his face, if the clicking of the camera shudder was any indication.
“Perfect!” The photographer was ecstatic. He had taken paired shots of many of the members, but they had been missing something. The shots between Sho and Jun had been especially strained, which was unusually, but it seemed that Sakurai-san had a lot on his mind that day, since he was a little distracted for the entire first part of the shoot. “Those shots were exactly what the shoot was missing. I hope you will be pleased with them.” The photographer motioned Jun and Ohno over to look at the shots, and Jun could feel Aiba pressed up behind him, a hand on his arm the warning that he had before the other was pressed close. Nino squeezed himself between Ohno and Jun with a smirk, and Sho stood to Ohno’s other side. They all wanted to see what the photographer was so excited about.
“MatsuJun and Riida look so cute together!” Aiba beamed down at Ohno, wrapping an arm around Jun in a hug, and Ohno nodded his agreement.
“Jun-kun always looks good in images though.” Ohno added, with a sly glance at Jun, even as Nino took Ohno’s hand, squeezing it.
“But you two almost look like a couple.”Nino chimed in as he shifted, looking to Ohno with wise eyes, batting his eyelashes at Ohno with a smirk. “But what about me? About us. You know that we have always been Ohmiya SK.” Nino sniffed slightly, the smirk never leaving his face, and he ooffed as he was tackled by Aiba in a huge hug
“You still have me Nino-chan!!!!!” Aiba swung Nino around, and Jun could heard Aiba laughing, and Nino’s chuckle, and he could not help but watch the pair, a smile on his face .
“Hey, Masaki.” Jun spoke, and the older man paused his playing to look at Jun in question. “I didn’t get you buy you lunch earlier, so how about dinner?”
“You trying to go to dinner without me, Jun-pon? You know Aiba was supposed to do lunch with both of us today.” Nino smirked as Jun sighed.
“I am not buying you two meals today.” Jun’s voice was dry and Nino looked at him innocently.
“But I don’t even eat that much. It will be like you bought me one big meal instead of two small meals.” Nino shifted away from Aiba, wrapping himself around Jun and staring up at him with wide eyes. “Please, Jun?” His voice dropped. “We do need to talk. Soon.” Jun sighed looked to Ohno and Sho, noting the away that Sho watched him, frowning as his gaze moved from the images of the shoot to Jun with a frown, his fists clenched slightly at him sides. Ohno nodded absently, watching Sho with the slightest frown, which was masked by the sleepy expression.
“Get off me brat. You can come too.” Jun pushed Nino away gently, and smiled at the photographer. “Sorry for the disruption just now. If there is nothing else, are we free to go?” Jun asked, knowing that they had a tight schedule for the rest of the afternoon. It was also a Monday, which meant after the next set of interviews, scheduled in the same building, that Sho would be off to do Zero, and the rest of them would go out to dinner, since Jun was almost certain that Aiba would want Ohno there as well, thought he could be wrong. Sometimes Aiba still surprised him.
“You are done, unless Sakurai-san has something that he thinks needs changed about the photos.” It had not escaped the photographers notice that Sho was staring at the screen, studying the image of Jun and Ohno together.
“No, the image looks good, very good. The two look natural.” He looked to the photographer. “You did an excellent job with them.” Sho smiled, his idol smile, but the photographer did not seem to notice, as he, and the rest of their staff chimed their thanks. Jun could see his manager lingering in the hallway, and knew that he would be taking them to the room where the interviews for the photo shoot would be. When that was done, they would get to changed, and go on their separate ways.
“Matsumoto-kun, I have gotten some information for you. When you have time, we will need to talk about it, and see what else you would like me to change.” Jun’s manager pulled him aside as they walked, and the others slowed, following the pair to the next location but giving them space to talk as the conversation was obviously not meant for them.
“Already, I am impressed.” Jun’s voice was low and his manager brushed off the comment with a wave of his hand.”I will let you know when we have time to look at the information and discuss it.”
“My wife deals in real estate, it was easy to ask her, and she is discreet.” His manager paused .”I can print it all off, and bring it to you in a packet tomorrow, if that would be easier.”
Jun paused for a moment before the door to the room for the interview, and waved the others inside. “Two might be more convenient, if it was not too much trouble, and thank you.”
“Two will be fine, I will let her know. I have also arranged for the cars for after the interview. You will have twenty minutes to get ready afterwards.” Jun nodded and moved to step into the room with his bandmates. He was surprised when the door closed and Sho stepped outside, a serious look on his face.
“The interviewers are running a little bit late.” Sho looked to Jun’s manager. “You may need to delay the cars. It seems that the interviewers are having some technical difficulties, and they cannot record our answers for the interview. They asked for a half hour or so to get things working.” Sho waited until Jun’s manager nodded and pulled out his phone before he spoke again.
“We need to talk Jun.” Sho looked to Jun, his eyes serious. “I am confused by some things that have been said to me, and what you said, and I would like to make certain that I understand what is going on here.” He looked away as Jun stepped back, crossing his arms across his chest with a frown.
“I am not having this conversation with you in a hallway Sho. This is not the kind of conversation that you have in a hallway of a building with strangers around.”
“And why not? What is so bad that you have to not tell me here?” Sho looked away. “I find it hard to believe Satoshi-kun when he said that you were in a relationship for six years at this point. You are a private person, but something would have slipped by now.” Sho’s words were soft and Jun looked to Sho, his eyes wide.
“You think he is lying then?” Jun asked, and Sho did not answer at first.
“We would have noticed if you were in a relationship, I am certain. We are a tight group, at least now that things are better between us and…” Sho sighed. “I know that you have been avoiding me, since even before I confessed to you, and I do not like it.”
“I do not like you pressing your feelings on me when you have been told that I am in a relationship.” Jun snapped back. “Riida did not lie to you. It has indeed been six years since I started dating him.”
“So it is a him, I wondered.” Sho’s voice was soft. “Six years is impossible, Jun. I know it is. I don’t like being lied too, and I do not understand why you will not even give me a chance? It is not fair, really. You cannot even accept a gift from me? Is he so controlling?”
“Fair, it is not fair?” Jun growled, and he could hear a hysterical edge to his voice. He could see his manager down the hallway watching them, typing something into his phone, though he did not come closer. Sho had his serious look on, and Jun’s gaze looked as if he could incinerate Sho at that moment that he would. “What is not fair is the fact that you are trying to get me to leave my boyfriend of six years, whom I am moving in with, to give you a chance. What is not fair,” Jun spat the word, “Is you deciding after all this time that having feelings for me is alright, especially after what you said then.”
“What I said-“ Sho started to speak but Jun cut his off, his voice low, dangerous.
“What is not fair if you forgetting that you told me that I needed to back off. That you did not want me idolizing you, or loving you. That you had too much to deal with and did not need a crazy band mate on top of crazy fans and school.” Jun took a deep, unsteady breath and Sho stepped towards him, reaching a hand out and Jun shrank back, away from the older man.
“Jun, I did not say that. I never would have said that.” Sho paused, his voice and hand dropping. “I don’t remember ever saying that…” His words were weak, lacking conviction, and Jun shook his head.
“Where the fuck do you even get off-“ Jun stopped as he noticed the door open behind Sho, and Ohno and Nino stepping outside.
“This really is not the place for this Sho-kun.” Ohno scolded, looking to Jun from behind Sho. “You are quite lucky that no one else is around to hear this conversation, as the staff is busy with their technical issues.” Ohno’s voice was firm, a hard edge to it. “Nino, go take Jun for a smoke, I have something that I need to talk to Sho-kun about.” Nino slipped past Sho, and grabbed Jun by the hand, and Sho started after them.
“I was not done talking to Jun.” Sho protested and Nino glared at him.
“Yes, you were.” Nino and Ohno spoke at the same time, and Sho spun to look at Ohno, his eyes narrowed.
“Why are you even interfering. This is between Jun and myself.” Sho looked puzzled as Ohno stepped outside, shaking his head and closing the door behind him.
“No, this is between you, Jun, and Jun’s boyfriend.” Ohno looked to Sho, wondering if he comprehended yet what he was being told, and the confusion that flitted across his face indicated that he, in fact, did not yet get it. Ohno could see that Jun and Nino were gone, saying a few words to Jun’s manager on their way before disappearing and he was glad.
“I did not think that you would try something at work like this, which is why I did not come out sooner, before you upset Jun.” Ohno looked to Sho, and Sho stepped back, the force of that glare unexpected. The gaze was dark, and filled with emotion, and Sho could not help but think of Naruse from Maou. “The way that you rejected him all those years ago was uncalled for, but I can forgive you for that. He has, so I can as well. What I do not like you trying to convince Jun that he should leave me and give you a chance, so stop it, please.” Ohno’s words were firm, and Sho stared at Ohno, blinking as his brain tried to process what he had just been told in the last few minuted.
Sho had horribly rejected Jun all those years ago and forgotten about it.
Jun was moving in with his boyfriend.
Jun was dating Ohno.
Jun was dating Ohno for six years.
“But-I-you---what?” Was all Sho managed, and Ohno stepped back as the door to the interview room opened and Aiba stuck his head out.
“They are ready for us.” He looked down the hall. “They want to do the individual interviews first, so it will give Nino and Jun a chance to get back.” Aiba looked to Ohno, giggling slightly as Sho continued to stare and gape at Ohno, his mouth opening and closing, but no words coming out.
“Riida, I think you broke Sho-chan.” Aiba grabbed Sho by the hand, pulling him into the room. “Come on Sho-chan. We can do this.” Aiba chatted softly to Sho, who allowed himself to be lead into the room, shocked. Ohno paused, nodding to Jun’s manager before pulling his phone out of his pocket and sending a message to Jun, and then Nino. Ohno pulled the door closed, shuffling back into the room and over to the table, his trademark sleepy gaze adorning his face and he settled into a chair, setting down to observer Aiba and Sho, and make certain that Sho was not actually broken. From the way that Sho shifted in his chair, the set to his jaw, and the way his hands were folded in his lab, Ohno knew that Sho was mentally preparing himself for the interview. Things were not fine yet, and they may not be for a while, but at least now everyone knew.
