Title: Discovery Part Four
Prompt: Ohno/Jun Free Square
Pairing: Ohno/Jun, Jun/Nino friendship
Third in the Juntoshi Collar Universe
As they moved through the building Nino did not look to Jun, just pulled him along, following the signs towards the exits. Somewhere around here there had to be a stairwell with a door to the outside they they could hide in for a while. Jun was in no condition to do an interview at the moment, not with the way that the raw emotions were coursing through im still. Nino could feel a slight trembling in the hand that he held, and Nino tightened hs fingers around Jun’s hand. He was not Ohno, he could not offer Jun the comfort that he was sure that he wanted, but he would do his best until Jun could talk to Ohno. Finally finding what he was looking for, Nino pulled Jun outside, pushing him own onto the steps while he himself moved to stand beside the door, making sure that no one was going to come across them. The stairs they were hiding by were still inside the building, and were only supposed to be used as a fire exit. It was as private as they were going to get in this building.
After making sure that the door was firmly shut, but still able to be opened when they were ready to return, Nino turned to face Jun, who sat on the steps, his head buried in his arms. Jun did not like to break in public like this, and he had been very near cracking in front of Sho.
“Jun, you alright?” Nino sat down beside the other, leaning into him, but he did not embrace Jun, not yet. Jun would just shrug him off, too closed off into himself to want the kind of physical comfort Nino wanted to give him. “Jun…” Nino studied Jun, the way that he hugged his knees tightly, the way his body trembled ever so slightly, and if he listened, over the sound of breathing he could hear that Jun was crying, though he was trying his best not to. Nino leaned into Jun, watching him still as he continued to speak.
“As soon as we realized that Sho had gone outside and not come back we figured something was going on. And when your manager messaged Ohno, we came to the door as fast as we could without arousing the suspicion of the interviewers and their crew. I am just sorry that it was not soon enough.” Nino took a breath efore he continued speaking, his voice soft, as soothing as he could make it, and he leaned into Jun more, pressing into his side, giving as much contact as he could without embracing the other man. “Oh-chan has been watching Sho all day, hoping that something like this would not happen. He hoped, I think, to spare you from having to talk to him about it, so you would not be so hurt by things.”
“How much did you hear?” Jun asked, his words muffled through his arms, and Nino could hear that Jun was indeed crying, his voice rough and scratchy, but for once he did not comment on it.
“When Sho said that he did not remember saying it, and you started to go off on him.” Nino sighed. “You think either one of us would have let you go through that conversation alone, Jun?”
Jun did not answer and Nino sighed, sinking to his knees in front of Jun. “Look at me, Jun.” Nino placed his hands on Jun’s knees, worming them under Jun’s arms, and for a long time Jun did not look up. When he did Nino could see the tear stains on his cheeks, the redness in his eyes, and the sadness there.
“We love you Jun, always, no matter what. And we do not want you to suffer needlessly.” Nino pulled Jun into a hug, threading his hand into Jun’s hair and holding the other against him, his head buried in the crook of Nino’s neck.
“I am sorry that I was not there. I am sorry that we were unable to protect you from this. Friends are supposed to do better then this and-“
“It is fine, Kazu.” Jun’s voice cracked and he wrapped his arms loosely around Nino, allowing the other to hold him tightly. “I just-did he think I was going to wait all this time? Who the fuck does he think he is?” Jun growled, and Nino hugged him tightened, his hand moving in soothing circles along Jun’s back. “He doesn’t know me, not like he thinks he does, and think that Ohno would LIE to him about the fact that I was in a relationship…” Jun’s voice hitched at the word lie, and Nino drew in a breath.
“It is alright Jun. Ohno is taking care of everything.” Nino continued to hold Jun, the other limp in his embrace until their phones rang, and from the ring tones, both knew that both Ohno and Aiba were calling them. It was time for them to go back.
“I look like hell.” Jun did not have to look into a mirror to know this. He was sure that his makeup had been ruined by the tears, and as comforting at it was, Nino’s embrace had ruined his hair. “This is your fault brat, messing up my hair.” Jun tired to be gruff, and Nino just glared at him.
“You always look amazing, even when you cry.” Nino shuffled out of the way and to his feet as Jun tried to swing at him in response to the comment and Nino just laughed, typing something into his phone. “Aiba will meet us in the bathroom with some makeup. As often as he cries he had learned to carry some with him.”
Jun laughed and Nino was glad, moving to hug the younger one more time before stepping otwards the door.
“It you need anything Jun, let me know. I could even bring myself to beat Sho-chan up for you, if it would make you feel better.” Nino paused. “Even though it is Sho-chan, I would, if you wanted.”
“You don’t need to. I hope that he feels badly enough when he finds outs that it is Satoshi that he will just let things drop, though I am sure it will not e quite that easy. He will have questions, and apologies, and it will not be over, not for a while.”
“This entire thing has been very unlike Sho-chan. I wonder what pushed him to pursue you like this.” Nino opened the door, and looked to Jun. “I know in part it was because masaki and I pushed him to confess, but if we had know, we never would have. If I ha know that it was still so raw, I never would have. I didn’t mean to-“
“You did nothing, Kazu, nothing at all. Like I told Masaki, I am glad that you wanted me to be happy, in what you thought would make me happy. Now lets go, Oh-chan is worried.” Jun spoke as he looked at his phone, slipping it back into his pocket. “And the interviewers are getting a little suspicious that we are not there.”
Nino nodded, and just lightly smacked his hea on the way by. “Stop thinking so much about is, Kazu. It is fine. I swear.” Jun laughed, glancing back over his shoulder. “I know better than to even try and lie to you.”
“Damn right.” Nino smirked, and scampered forward to catch up with Jun, grabbing his hands and swinging their arms in a wide arc between them as they walked down the hall. Nino let go as they passed the bathrooms closest to the interview room, where Jun entered and Nino went to o his interview, and stall for enough time for Jun to join them.
Anyone who thought Jun was a bad actor obviously had never actually paid attention to Jun. When he entered the interview he offered his apologies, claiming that he was not feeling well, and that a little bit of fresh air had helped immensely. He also said that he was very sorry for the trouble, and was trying his best. The interviewers expressed concern, but Jun just laughed with a smile, claiming that it was the slight fever that he sometimes got, but it was not the new year yet, so he was not sure why now of all time it was happening. The interviewers did not question it, especially when Aiba nodded in agreement, reminding everyone gently that they had discussed this one of their shows, that Jun often would get fevers for no reason when he was run down and exhausted. And that was the end of that. When the interviews were over, and they were dismissed for the day, Jun, Nino and Aiba went to dinner, and Sho went off to do Zero. Ohno politely refused inner with a smile and apologies to Aiba.
“I think that it will be easier if I do not go. I am sure that there is a lot that you wish to ask Jun.” Ohno offered his apologies to Aiba and Nino, and moved towards the car that was waiting to take him home, and Jun followed, a few steps behind.
“Riida…” Jun called softly an Ohno turned, offering Jun a small smile. “I will be home late. I told Sho that we could meet after Zero, since there are several things that he wished to clarify, and talk about.” Ohno stepped slightly towards Jun. “I would prefer to be home with you tonight, but this is something that needs to be done and-“ Ohno sighed, pouting slightly and Jun nodded.
“Thank you.” Was all he said, and Ohno smiled before walking towards the car.
To say that Jun was disappointed would be an understatement, though he knew that this needed to happen, and that if Ohno talked with Sho, that it meant that he did not have to, and that made everything easier. He did not think that he would be able to without yelling at the other, without taking out the anger that he thought he had purged on the other, and that would not do anything good for the band relations.
“Come on, its time for dinner!” Aiba grabbed Jun’s hand, dragging him and Nino down the street to what Jun was sure was yakiniku, and he was not surprised when they ended up at a table in a back room at a restaurant many of the Johnny’s frequented. After much meat and beer later, Jun realized that his inner monologue of Aiba’s reaction to the entire thing had not been far off.
There were a lot of tears, happy tears, but tears. And a lot of apologies for things that Jun did not even know Aiba felt he should apologize for. And there was a lot of narration on Jun how amazing Jun was, and Riida was, and how amazing they were together, and how sorry that he was for not having noticed it before. And then, with a leer, Aiba had tired to press for details about their sex life, unsuccessfully. Very unsuccessfully, though both he and Nino had tired their best to get ANY information at all from Jun. And neither commented when Jun kept looking at his phone, his eyebrows creasing slightly every time that he looked and did not have a message from Ohno.
When they did leave Aiba picked up the bill before Jun could, which surprised none of them at the table, and Jun sent both Nino and Aiba home in a taxi. Neither had driven that day and both had quite a lot to drink and could not drive him even if they wanted too. Jun had driven, and had not hand anything to drink, despite both Aiba and Nino trying to ply him with alcohol, and he still needed to drive home. It was not a long walk back to the agency, or to where his car was parked, but now he was alone, and that was something that he hoped to avoid, since alone meant thinking, and thinking meant worrying, and anger, and loneliness. Jun did not need to look at the time to know that Sho had just finished with Zero, and that he and Ohno would be meeting soon to talk.
With a sigh Jun pulled out his phone and typed a quick message to Ohno before heading to his car, a hat pulled low over his hair.
To: Riida
From: Jun
Miss you. Love you.
The message was unusual, not something that he normally messaged Ohno, but tonight it needed to be said. If he could not have Riida’s presence, he at least wanted him to know that he missed him, and needed him. Jun did not expect a response, though part of him hoped, as always, that he would get one. However, if the discussion was half as serious as he thought it was going to be, as there was no way Sho was just going to let the issue drop, Ohno would not be free to send a message back for a while. Which was not reassuring in the least. Which is why Jun sent another message as he walked in the door to his house, leaving his shoes and bag in the doorway.
To: Riida
From: Jun
Let me know that you are alright, when this is all over, please?
It was done, so now all he could do was wait for morning, when he could see Ohno.
It was close to four in the morning when the door to Jun’s apartment opened. It had taken longer than expected to resolve everything thing Sho, as Sho had a lot of questions, and it took a lot of explanation for Sho to really understand what he had done to Jun all those years ago, and that even if Ohno and Jun were to break up, which they weren’t going (neither Jun not Ohno foresaw this as a possibility but sometimes things happened and they could not promise that, but neither had the desire too) that Jun would not run to Sho for comfort or a relationship. Ohno told Sho all the things that Jun never would, that he had kept bottled up inside all of these years, and in the end Sho announced that he had been a complete asshole, and he was surprised that Jun talked to him at all these days. In the end, Sho offered a sincere apology to Ohno, and promised that he would also apologize to Jun, when he had time, and the timing seemed alright. Jun deserved an apology, and Sho was very sorry for all the trouble that he had caused the last several weeks. All in all the conversation went well, it had just taken a very long time, and Ohno was tired. He was certain that Sho was as well, but at least Ohno and Jun had the morning off tomorrow, where as Sho had filming for something early in the morning. The caster would not be getting a lot of sleep.
Ohno slowly opened the door to the house, slipping his head inside to assess the situation before entering. The light from the television was on, the volume low enough that he could not make out what was on. Leaving. His shoes by the door he set his bag down as well, making certain to put it out of the way so it would not get stumble over in the morning. Ohno shuffled down the hallway into the living room and was not surprised to see Jun asleep on the couch. Ohno could make out a bottle of wine on the coffee table, and a glass beside it. Knowing Jun he had turned on the television and tried to relax, but failed, because he was worried about Ohno, and the conversation with Sho. The wine was merely an added attempt to relax, which worked well enough to get Jun to sleep.
Ohno settled down on the floor next to Jun, stopping to admire him for a moment in the dark room, the light from the television had a soft glow, and Jun’s hair stood out in stark contrast to the white of the couch. He was curled up on his side, his head cradled on one arm, which was hanging off of the couch. The other was tucked around a pillow, pulling the pillow close to him as he hugged it. It reminded Ohno of a child snuggling with his favorite animal. At some point Jun had shed his jeans and shirt in favor of pajamas, and Ohno was amused to see that it was a pair that he had picked out for the younger man himself. It was not often that Ohno bought clothing, for himself or for Jun, but he had seen these when out with his mom and knew that Jun needed to have them. A printed pair of cotton pajamas, with waves rolling across the material in whites and blues. The ocean was something that they both love, and it seemed a fitting gift.
Jun’s face, even in sleep held some tension, his eyebrows furrowed, and his mouth frowning slightly. Ohno traced a gently finger along Jun’s cheeks, admiring the bone structure, even as he placed a soft kiss on the hand that hung off of the couch. Waking Jun was always potentially a dangerous thing, but Ohno could not resist. His hand did not stop moving, idly tracing down Jun’s face and neck, and shoulder, shifting so he knelt facing Jun and the couch. Jun was slowly beginning to stir and Ohno increased the pressure slightly, so Jun would be able to tell that someone was intentionally touching him, while dropping another kiss on his arm, and then forehead. Jun sighed, shifting into the touch, and his eyes slowly opened, blinking a few times before focusing on Ohno. One hand moved to rub his eyes and Ohno chuckled softly.
“Forgot to take your contacts out I see?” His voice was a whisper and Jun grumbled his response, burying his face in the pillow with a soft growl, burning his other arm up to wrap around Ohno and pulling him into his embrace.
“You are home.” Jun’s voice was scratchy, hoarse with sleep and lack of use, and it was a sound that Ohno love to hear. If he was more of a masochist he would wake Jun up more often just to hear that sound, but Jun needed his sleep as much as the rest of them, and a somewhat rested Jun was a happier Jun, for him and for the band as a whole.
Ohno nodded, shifting to his forehead rested against Jun’s temple and he placed a kiss there, one of his hands worming into the mass of arms and pillow to hold Jun’s hand, while the other still moved along his shoulder, and now back and hip, tracing random patterns.
“I thought you might want to see me, that is all.” Ohno could feel Jun nod against him, even as he spoke,
“I would have been fine until tomorrow, Satoshi.” Ohno had a hard time making out Jun’s words through the pillow, buthe managed, noting with a small smile the way that Jun leaned into his touch, an gripped his hand tightly. “Your house would have been closer as well.” Jun paused, “What time is it anyways.”
“You would have, and it was” Ohno agreed, kissing Jun’s check. “But I wanted to be here. I was worried about you today.” Ohno was not surprised when Jun pushed the pillow aside, tugging Ohno onto the couch, Jun was curled around Ohno, his head resting on his tight, his arms tightly around his waist. Ohno leaned back against Jun’s chest, resting his arm on Jun’s thigh. Jun’s embrace a of Ohno was tight, he could feel Jun’s rings digging into his skin, could feel the leather of the cuffs through this thin material of his shirt, and for a long while neither spoke, only idly combing his fingers through Jun’s hair, just watching the younger man.
“Kazu told me that you cried earlier, and I am sorry. I should have been able to prevent that, if I had been faster-“ Ohno paused as Jun shifted, sitting up and moving so he was straddling Ohno’s lap, his arms still wrapped around the other. When he did not continue speaking Jun spoke.
“I needed to let him know that it was not alright that he was doing this. I would not have been able to have the entire conversation with him, and I am glad that you were there, to take over, but I had to face him at some point.” Jun sighed, pulling Ohno closer. “I think what bothers me most about this, was that he did not remember saying any of it. It hurt so much, caused so much pain and he did not remember.” Jun moved to he looked to Ohno, a small smile on his face. “But knowing that I have you, your support and your love, it makes the pain a lot less. It shouldn’t bother me so much, this thing that happened years ago, and I do not want to let it change anything between us.” Jun kissed Ohno, a gentle peck on his lips.
“I am sorry that I have been so much trouble as of late, Satoshi. I will stop now, the hurt and the pain, I will not let them have a place here anymore.” Jun looked away, and Ohno could tell that Jun was embarrassed. The slight pink that he was sure was on the others cheeks could not been seen in the dark, but Ohno knew that it was there. “You have been to kind, so patient, and I don’t deserve it.”
“Jun is Jun, and I love him, all of him, as he is.” Ohno smiled up at Jun, tangling his hands in Jun’s hair and pulling the younger down for a kiss, a real kiss, not the pecks and gentle kisses that they had been exchanging before. It was a slow kiss, lazy and sleepy, but with tenderness and affection. Ohno continued to talk when they broke the kiss, enjoying the slight pleasure glazed look in Jun’s eyes, the way his lips shined, swollen in the darkness. It made him want to kiss Jun again.
“You always do your best for us, and that is all that I can ask. You did not ask this to happen, you did not seek it out. There is nothing that we could have done to prevent this save announcing to the others that we were dating.” Ohno’s fingers tightened slightly in Jun’s hair. “I am as much to blame for not protecting you from this. I told you that I would and I failed to do that.”
“Satoshi…” Jun muttered, his voice trembling before kissing the older man, a quick hard kiss. “You take such good care of me, you did not fail at all.” Jun smiled against the others lips. “We have not yet had a fight, not really, but we managed the first real bump in out relationship. I think, all in all, we are doing quite well.” Jun gasped as Ohno shifted, his hands moving to Jun’s waist as Ohno pulled the younger closer, kissing him again, loving the way that Jun melted pliant against him, pressing his body as close as he could to the other man, despite the height difference and the fact that Jun was on Ohno’s lap. It was Jun who broke the kiss, his hands roaming down Ohno’s side, and it was Jun who placed a kiss on Ohno’s neck and suggested that they move to the bedroom.
They had several hours before they needed to think about getting up for work, and despite the fact that Ohno had not yet slept that day, Ohno was amenable to the suggestion. They would still need to talk about what he had talked about with Sho, and find a place to live, and go through the hassle of moving when neither one of them had time in the schedules, but all of that could wait until morning. Ohno needed this, and he was sure that Jun did as well. Part of him, in spite of Jun’s assurances, was afraid that Jun would leave, or that he would want to give Sho a chance. It was been a foolish fear, but one that could be banished with logic. Jun, he knew was afraid that Ohno was going to get tired of his emotions and angst. But both had been unfounded fears. They would talk later, but right now, Jun’s boy lithe, muscular and plaint beneath his on the bed was much more interesting, and Jun’s whispers of “Satoshi, I love you,” made his heart swell with love.
“I love you too, Jun.” Ohno whispered in reply, kissing the other man again, and their whispered endearments and confessions turned to moans of passion, and then to the soft even breathing of sleep.
It would be nice, Ohno thought as sleep consumed him, to have this every night, Tangled up in Jun and in blankets, instead of passed out asleep on the couch. It would be very nice indeed.
