The big suitcase is now stashed with the Hyatt Regency, and I'm feeling happier about leaving it with them after the concierge assured me that, yes, they do store luggage for people, it's just not usual. I get the idea that it's more of a business account thing, not a longhaired oik in a GenCon t-shirt thing.
The train leaves at 2, so there's not much point in leaving for the station before mid-day, given that it's not a long walk.
In other news, the cafe thing* in the hotel lobby, which takes the place of a minibar, as it's 24 hour, doesn't just make bad decaf mochas. They also make bad hot chocolates.
Think I'll stick to bottles of water from this point on.
* This seems to be an interesting development in hotels; Rather than having an overpriced minibar in the room, or a vending machine on each floor which works off your room key card, the Hyatt Regency here in Chicago has a little alleged coffee bar and a wide selection of nibbly things, including bagels. They also have toasters & a couple of microwaves for the heat&eat stuff.
The JW Marriott in Indianapolis had a 'market', which was basically a room beside reception with nibbly things, drinks, magazines, etc., and you could take things up to said reception & charge them to your room. I went through a lot of water, as the tap water, and the water in the coolers in the Convention Centre, tasted nasty-ass.
The other thing I've noted is that I have no clue what an 'appetiser' on a menu is supposed to be for. Size-wise, the two appetisers I've ordered here have been main meal sized, so they're light on the wallet, if nothing else.
Also, the chicken quesedillæ were really good; I'm not sure what was in the pinky-red salsa, but Holy Crap it was hot.
