Palin's going off the deep end...

and even better, she's managed to piss of Madeleine Albright by misusing a quote of Albright's to further her own political gains.

It seems that Ms. Albright once made the statement, in a non-political context, "“There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t help other women". Ms. Palin twisted those words to her own end, stating, "There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t support other women".

Ms. Albright, class act that she is, responded as so (emphasis mine):

”Though I am flattered that Governor Palin has chosen to cite me as a source of wisdom, what I said had nothing to do with politics. This is yet another example of McCain and Palin distorting the truth, and all the more reason to remember that this campaign is not about gender, it is about which candidate has an agenda that will improve the lives of all Americans, including women.

The truth is, if you care about the status of women in our society and in our troubled economy, the best choice by far is Obama-Biden.”

To Ms. Palin, I can only quote Tim Curry as Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers, "You first". She has done so little to help or support other women, and in fact so much to hurt and hinder them, that I hope that the afterlife, whatever it may be, will accord her "proper" treatment.
