So that was a relatively positive experience today with the nice man with the kind smile. He said my "case" was not something he has ever really dealt with. I guess I'm not your average case over there at CAMH. Over the course of 2.5 hours I tried to accurately describe what I had been up to, why I had been up to it, how it had been effecting my ( Read more... )

Confrontation from either side (and the truth) doesn't help.

I'm happy to hear that the visit was worthwhile, and it sounds like this will be a very positive experience for you.

*hugs*

I won't stop being blunt when I see the need, though. I'd be dumbfounded if you expected anything different from me, of course.

I almost used my pink pig icon for this comment, and then thought better of it. ;)

Continuing to post here about your ongoing state of mind is a very good idea (much more for your own good than for any of us reading it), and I wholeheartedly endorse it. I do recommend you at least make all such posts friends-only, however, to reduce the chance of them getting indexed by search engines. Also, don't be afraid to disallow comments on any such posts. Make people at least confront you to your face. ;-)

As it stands I'm not certain that there is any connection to link my real persona to this blog. People have been wrong about this before however. Truth be told there are a couple of recent "non-friends" who I am hoping may check in on me and see that there is some progress.

Apparently I can expect to have some rather pronounced "fight or flight" reactions during the next little while. Me and a keyboard when angry or afraid have always been a bad combo, but I do not think that shirking from dealing with ongoing issues in a direct manner will do anything but help. One step at a time, man. Sounds like this was a pretty solid one. Keep at it. You've got more people rooting for you than you realize, and even if we have to set our own boundaries, we're still here for you. m'Kay? As Morgan said: just a phone call away.
