I've recently become a little bit obsessed with this cover of Comfortably Numb. While I don't like the way she changes the emphasis on some of the lyrics, I think it's an interesting take on the song.

Last night I went to the Genesis reunion concert. The last - and only other - time I saw them was back in 1987. My seat was way up on the mezzanine level, facing the stage at about the 7 o'clock position, so although I wasn't close to the stage, I had a nice view.

After listening to Howard Stern and his crew talk about it on his show today, I went on YouTube to check out the video for Billy Squire's Rock Me Tonight.

Sweet Jebus. What the hell was he thinking?

Man, that reminded me how much the 80's sucked ass.

If you're a Peter Gabriel fan, you might want to check out this site. Gabriel is holding a competition in which he's invited fans to download Shock the Monkey, remix it, and upload it back onto the site. The entries span a lot of different styles, and provide some interesting interpretations of the song. I particularly liked this entry.

Went out to karaoke with loneminstrel82, a fellow TV Guide wage slave, about two weeks back. I didn't sing, but she did. She does a good Alanis Morissette. She also enjoys mockery and cruel humor, which is probably why we get along.

Went with shellefly to the North Star Bar on Saturday to see a band called The Company perform Pink Floyd's "The Wall" in its entirety. ( Read more... )
