When Fay woke up, he spent a very brief moment wondering why the only breathing he could hear was his own. But then he remembered his location, and with a sigh, patted Fish-san’s head and sat up. He had turned the cushions and towels he had gathered into a kind of nest in one of the café’s upstairs rooms - a kind of back room for workers to rest.
