Fair time again.
So, I have been absent from my LJ for a long while.... lots giong on here. Mostly it's that there's been a HUGE drought. I mean we are talking less than an inch of moisture since mid-May and temps that are consistently between 95 and 110 degrees. EVERYDAY. SINCE JUNE. Blech. I end up having to water the garden for about 3 horus a day to keep things alive. The peach tree died. Lee backed over the peas with the car. And I am just trying so hard to keep everything else alive.
Farmer's Market has been alright. I've started making different kinds of fresh breads and homemade dog biscuts.
Anyways, the county fair starts on Friday and I am entering LOTS of things. I'll try to remember to take photos of everything before I turn it in for judging on Friday morning. I am entering:
Several Marigold blooms
Several Zinnia blooms
A Tiger Lily
A plate of 5 beets from my garden
A jar of cherry jelly from this season
A jar of cherry jam from this season
A jar of pickled banana peppers
A jar of Mulberry-Raspberry jam
5-7 jewelry pieces
A cross stitch project I just finished for my niece
Possibly some carrots if they are ready
