Seriously.....

... I love my customers... I really do... and I love that my friends patronize my business too.... it makes me happy... however, that being said this week customers have been driving me a little.... insane.... So.... I have a repeat customer who orders resin buttons, window hanging pieces, and most recently wanted to order magnets. I agreed to make them and figured it would fair to charge $1.50 per magnet. The both of us decided to do them in two batches to make the cost a little easier... she wanted 48 total. So i did up the first batch and she paid for them and they were sent off. Then time passed and I ran into trouble making the other 24. After finally finishing them this week, I somehow ended up with 28. So, I asked if she wanted only the 24 originally agreed on or if she'd like the extra 4 too. She said she would be alright with all 28. I put up the reserved listing in my etsy shop just like I had before with the price figured up. $1.50 plus $8 shipping. She wrote back that OMG that was so expensive and she was just boggled by the cost and hadn't she already paid for half the order etc. and so on. I kindly explained to her after carefully checking the previous order that she had paid for and received the first half of the original magnet order and that the charge I was figuring was $1.50 per magnet. I also said that it only seemed fair with my labor and materials figured in. She replied back that this wasn't an oversight on my part and that she might have to hold off a bit to get the money together. That's fine. But then she went on and on about how expensive they were and how it caught her by surprise etc.... then she said she'd only be ordering buttons from me from now on... which again is fine. But honestly, how was the pricing surprising or in any way unfair? *headdesk #1*
A good friend of mine here in Dodge commissioned me to make this necklace for her boss for Christmas. Its been slow going. I had to order materials which took a few days. Then I have a TON of resin pieces to cast specifically for this piece so that takes LOTS of time to do. I only have one mold and so could only cast 2-4 pieces in the correct shape per 24 hour period. I have 4 left to cast. I double checked about the deadline. She told me it was Dec. 12th. I get an email today saying when can she see it and when will I be done. I told her how much I had finished and how much I had left to cast and that the piece would likely be ready Wednesday or Thursday. She says she has to have it Wednesday now because she needs to ship it. It would have been nice to know this... like last week when I last spoke with her about it. I keep my deadlines but this took a LOT of resin casting and each piece of resin needs 24 hours to cure. That is a huge chunk of time. And now I am going to have to scramble to finish it because she changed the deadline and didn't inform me until today. *headdesk #2*
There is a third headdesk but it hardly seems worth mentioning at the moment. *sigh*
