In an effort to get all the bad ideas for 2011 out as early as possible, Congress opens with a reading of the Constitution minus the part which says slaves count as three-fifths of a person and the publisher NewSouth wants to release a version of Huckleberry Finn that replaces "nigger" with "slave".
There are days I wake up and wonder if we, as a country, have lost our damn minds. Are we going to whitewash history and literature because it makes us uncomfortable? What the fuck, people? Instead of taking away words, lets add more books to the reading list like Ray Bradbury's FAHRENHEIT 451 or George Orwell's NINETEEN EIGHTY-FOUR and ANIMAL FARM and discuss why these actions are AN INCREDIBLY BAD IDEA.
