The phrase I think you are seeking is something along the lines of 'blunt and to the purpose'.

Conquer the world in the most peaceful of ways, Mr Wagtail? What shall you do - hug everyone to oblivion? I suppose there are worse fates.

Just so. You are far too full of energy to waste your time like that.

Interesting question. It was not intended as an insult, though I have never kept pets myself. I just see many examples of those very expensive, very pampered, very precision-bred pets, in some of your behaviour.

Like those very fluffy ones with hair which almost obscures their faces, who somehow manage to look as though every strand of fur is supposed to be just there - no matter how mussed they appear. As though looking 'mussed' is precisely the 'look' they were attempting.

Yet, you see these same pampered creatures chasing birds in the park for nothing more or less than the sheer joy of running, and still they manage to look refined and expensive and elegant, even caked in mud.

And there, look. You have made me become positively verbose over a hypothetical dog.

I have said quite enough, I think.

YES! Even bluntness can be beautiful when it is called for. Plus, my Patronus is a large peregrine falcon.

Hahahah! I liked that one. I'd love doing that-- we all need a hug sometimes. Including you. But as you said-- there are more important things. Such as-- my music. Music is the finest of all arts, as it gets straight to the heart, to the very core of a man's being.

Oho, Mr Snape - quite verbose indeed. But I like that. Makes me feel more special So-- I am taking your comparison as a compliment because I think what you were trying to say is that I look very fine in defiance of all conditions, yes?

See, you are very very kind, and I think this has to be the best compliment I've ever been paid. Kir, my bandmate, just says that I am a diva and makes fun of this. Not my fault though that I was born like that, is it? Both my parents had a very strong sense of the aesthetic, so I was surrounded with it from early on.

Thank you though. You are awesome.

Well, there you are, then. Though I must admit your Patronus surprises me somewhat. Interesting.

I will not argue your opinion of music. I prefer quiet when I am working, so I rarely indulge in the pleasure of listening, but I will agree that some pieces can be very stirring, indeed.

As it was intended as a compliment, I am not averse to you taking it as such. However, I don't know that my affirmation ought to carry so much weight? You have the world at your feet and more than enough people confirming your aesthetic appeal. I am merely sharing in the common opinion, for a change.

A diva? I don't think that suits, at all. A diva, to me, implies someone fragile in their elegance, conceited in their self-opinion, and so haughty in their perfection as to be above associating with the common folk.

I have known a few 'Divas' in my time - even to go so far as to join the heaps of sycophants such individuals collect - briefly.

You are a great many things, Mr Wagtail, most of which seem to defy definition of any sort. 'Diva', however, you are not.

I think when next we meet, I shall provide you with the most recent edition of the Oxford's English Dictionary. I am quite certain you will not find anything resembling me anywhere near the word 'awesome'.

You are welcome.

It surprises me no less, to be honest. But I cannot complain, of course, considering how beautiful and powerful falcons are.

The very process of creating music-- I never stop wondering how it happens. I cannot put it down to scientific norms. It swirls around and then there are the black dots over the music sheets and me, playing.--

Your affirmation carries a lot of weight, Mr Snape. Mostly, because I don't need all of the world. I don't need other people-- I just. Mmm, something.

Oh interesting, how very very interesting! You've known divas? I do think I am not a diva, and I have a suspicion that Kir only says that to upset me, but I don't care of course.

Next we meet I shall greatly look into that dictionary with you, which shall prove my point precisely. And then I shall revel in victory over your refusal to accept your very own natural awesomeness. Ha.

Black dots on music sheets is all it ever appears to me. To hear it, though, and played well, is entirely separate. My education never encompassed learning to 'read' music or play instruments, but I have come to learn what I prefer as a consumer of the art.

The pureblood elite of our society is populated with nothing but divas, or at least so I have often been led to believe.

I shall procure the newest edition of the dictionary at once.
