"Lightning?" She called back, wincing a little at how loud her voice sounded echoing through the vast, seemingly empty halls. "Lightning, where are you?!"
Hopefully, when Lightning answered- if Lightning answered and Serah hadn't just been hearing her voice- she'd be able to follow the sound of it back to where her sister was.

His ears tuned to what was going on, hearing several people calling for each other, and feet padding along the way, racing off towards the enemy. A part of him didn't know which way to go- until he heard Serah and Lightning call for each other. He seemed closer to Serah, so he followed in that direction, keeping close and trying not to scare her should he run into her suddenly.
It didn't take him long before he turned a corner (cautiously, of course- his previous battles had taught him to know better), that he spotted Serah off at the other end of the hall. With that, he began running towards her, glad to see a somewhat familiar face.
"Serah? Hey, Serah!"

Jill hadn't expected to arrive in the same area as last time--this unpredictability was beginning to become predictable--so while she wasn't surprised to find herself somewhere new, she was surprised by the setting.
A warehouse?
It was... rather modern-day, for lack of a better term, considering what all she'd seen so far. Gazing at the crystal glittering a little ways off, she quickly recovered and began looking around the large room; considerably close quarters, compared to last time. Her mouth twitched towards a light frown after she patted her holster and found that her communication crystal was indeed absent. Head for the base, she'd told Billy. Easier said than done, now.
Oh, well. Drawing her gun, Jill ejected the magazine to check it before clicking it back into place and double-checking the safety. She didn't plan on using it--she didn't want to use it, rather, but it was of course inevitable, at ( ... )

He shook the thoughts out of his head, gripping the Colt a little tighter in hand and figuring out what to do. Head for base. Not really doable now. Well, hopefully the team had just been corralled into the same area. If such were the case, it couldn't be too hard to find her... hopefully. They were headed for the same goal in the end anyway: Cosmos' crystal. With that in mind he moved forward into the winding halls, eyes flicking over the walls and keeping a sharp ( ... )

When she looked ahead again, he did as well, inhaling a breath and letting it out in a sigh. No way to go but forward, just like always; no way they knew to go home than win this war. Or at least better to avoid having Chaos throw another bitch fit over a loss.
"Let's," he agreed, holding out a hand to let her go first, smirking a little. Ladies first and all that. Well, they had a general direction to go from here to get to the crystal at the very least. With a warehouse, it wouldn't be horribly difficult to get some sort of bearing from there. And neither would it be terribly ( ... )

"Alright people. Go forth and do what you do best. I'll handle the defenses here."

When they arrived, Kuja was already dusting his shoulder without so much as a single look around, but when he hazarded a glance, his sweep stopped mid-stroke, absently completing itself some seconds later as he scanned the starting base with a stricken look, as if the very place was offending his delicate senses. He made some soft, deeply afflicted groan to that effect and rolled his eyes ( ... )

His training as a military general kicked in first, with an instinct of telling Kuja to be a decoy. He'd certainly stand out enough, but Kefka knew he wouldn't go for it. Unfortunately. Still, that smile... it even got to Kefka on rare occasions. This was one such occasion.
Still, Kefka was nothing if not diplomatic in picking his words, even if the intent in his tone was clear. "The leading man is staying behind the curtain this time? ...You are a man, correct?"
Ah sarcasm. Kefka's favorite pastime.

Less sarcasm, he imagined, than blatant disregard, though Kuja paid it no mind. He didn’t fit... That’s what they all said, wasn't it? But it suited him just fine. Kuja didn't want to fit. It was a large part of why he was the way that he was and partly why he was so largely unaffected by the ungainly attempt on his pride in an area where he felt so naturally confident.
But he stared at Kefka for it, that shifty little smile unfailing.
"Are you through?" He asked, the picture of perfect manners despite himself and the vicious undertones that punctured his overall sweetness. "Besides, I'm afraid you don't know me at all." Contentedly teasing now, as if it were the saddest thing he'd ever heard, he gave his bangs a carefree toss.
"-Real leading men steal the show," he sniped, a glimmer in his eye, and the subtle, promising conviction that he would do exactly that. "They make their debut when the time is right ... energize the climax and leave the audience with something breathtaking."
Better, though, that Kefka didn't outright ( ... )

There was no time to quibble about such issues, however. She would have to work with what she was given, and aid Cosmos once more. To that end, Terra tore her gaze away from their surrounding and looked around for familiar faces with which to pair up. Such pairings were unlikely to last the entire duration of the battle, but it wouldn't hurt to have someone at her back for as long as it could be managed.

"Terra!" he called out, hurrying over before she could get too far. "Think you could use a 'bear' like me?"

He took another quick look around, at their allies, before his attention returned wholly to Terra. "There anyone else you were looking for before we booked it towards the crystal? ...Should we try to find Celes?"
Since Terra had done this before and he had faith in her judgment, he was content to letting her take the lead.

Despite that, the light was still poorly lit, and the room was dirty and run down. Saleh quickly dislodged his attention from the lights and looked around for his partner-to-be. However, there was no guarantee that he would find her in this mess.
"Celes...?"
He called out somewhat softly, hoping that Celes would hear him, but also hoping that the enemies wouldn't hear him.

"I am she. You must be Saleh." She replied in an equally soft tone. "I think the best defensive location would be... over there." She indicated an area partially obstructed by a large fallen ceiling panel that could provide at least partial cover for the spell-caster, but still had enough room on either side - and enough room underneath - for him or her to make a speedy exit were they discovered. "We can snipe at intruders with magic from here, and I will attack anyone who comes too close to you. Your thoughts?"
If he had any better ideas, now was the time to speak up.

He looked over the area that Celes pointed out and listened to her explanation. Right now, he couldn't think of any better ideas.
"It seems a sensible plan," he replied.
