[ooc; Figured that Jill and Billy could get together here, and then meet with Aigis/Tifa in a new thread once they move out?]

Jill hadn't expected to arrive in the same area as last time--this unpredictability was beginning to become predictable--so while she wasn't surprised to find herself somewhere new, she was surprised by the setting.

A warehouse?

It was... rather modern-day, for lack of a better term, considering what all she'd seen so far. Gazing at the crystal glittering a little ways off, she quickly recovered and began looking around the large room; considerably close quarters, compared to last time. Her mouth twitched towards a light frown after she patted her holster and found that her communication crystal was indeed absent. Head for the base, she'd told Billy. Easier said than done, now.

Oh, well. Drawing her gun, Jill ejected the magazine to check it before clicking it back into place and double-checking the safety. She didn't plan on using it--she didn't want to use it, rather, but it was of course inevitable, at ( ... )

It wasn't as if Billy was exactly unused to fighting in warehouses - in fact, this reminded him all too much of the latter half of his fun trip through hell courtesy of James Marcus, or whatever had been traipsing around as him back then. It just wasn't where he expected to be. Warehouses weren't that convenient for large-scale battles, after all. The halls were narrow as hell and meant little maneuverability when it came to actual attacks; the only places good for battles were probably the wide rooms he figured this place would have. How big is this place, anyway?

He shook the thoughts out of his head, gripping the Colt a little tighter in hand and figuring out what to do. Head for base. Not really doable now. Well, hopefully the team had just been corralled into the same area. If such were the case, it couldn't be too hard to find her... hopefully. They were headed for the same goal in the end anyway: Cosmos' crystal. With that in mind he moved forward into the winding halls, eyes flicking over the walls and keeping a sharp ( ... )

Turning quickly at the sound of footsteps, Jill allowed herself to relax a fraction when she recognized him and smiled. "Not what I was expecting at all," she admitted, and let her gun hand fall to her side as she glanced up at the tattered, dirty walls around them; if she wasn't convinced that Chaos and Cosmos were behind the place, she would fear for the building's stability. As it was, she figured they were more or less well off until the heavy fighting started, at least. And that ( ... )

"Makes it easier for us normies, I think," Billy threw it as he took another look around. The limited space also went against anyone using a weapon besides their fists or a gun, due to the space. That'd probably change in the more open rooms, but the environment still, ultimately, played to their advantage. They probably knew how to use it better than most people here. At least, he could hope that was the truth. They needed any advantage they could get.

When she looked ahead again, he did as well, inhaling a breath and letting it out in a sigh. No way to go but forward, just like always; no way they knew to go home than win this war. Or at least better to avoid having Chaos throw another bitch fit over a loss.

"Let's," he agreed, holding out a hand to let her go first, smirking a little. Ladies first and all that. Well, they had a general direction to go from here to get to the crystal at the very least. With a warehouse, it wouldn't be horribly difficult to get some sort of bearing from there. And neither would it be terribly ( ... )

The humor was a relief, considering the circumstances. Her smile quirking once in acknowledgement before fading, Jill took the lead and resumed her usual prepared position, her weapon held towards the ground. She wasn't sure how they would tell when they were near Cosmos territory, other than spotting those from the other side; hopefully they'd have a warning before then.

As barren as the hallways were, the click of her heels was a decent echo no matter how softly she tried to walk. Not for the first time, she cursed Wesker's odd sense of practicality in the back of her mind, but it was a background reaction, most of her attention on their surroundings.

"Avoiding Chris and Rebecca might not be as easy as we were hoping," she voiced in a low murmur, trying to minimize any further echoes on her end. She'd been hoping that they would see their partners from a distance and be able to steer clear of them--here, however, they likely wouldn't see them until they (literally, as short as some of those corners were) ran into each other.

Billy followed close behind her, keeping a close eye on the areas in front of them, and a close ear as well for any echoes that didn't belong to Jill's footsteps. His own were softer, despite his size, but then again that was probably because he wasn't wearing heelsHe didn't answer that particular comment verbally, only giving her a nod of his head when she was looking back, trying to speak as little as possible when he was able. His expression showed that he wasn't particularly happy with that thought. It was hard to say if they'd run into Rebecca; yes, she fought, but she was also a medic. She might choose to hang back to tend to the wounded. And even if they did run into her, they might be able to talk her out of a confrontation. Chris, however ( ... )
