Less sarcasm, he imagined, than blatant disregard, though Kuja paid it no mind. He didn’t fit... That’s what they all said, wasn't it? But it suited him just fine. Kuja didn't want to fit. It was a large part of why he was the way that he was and partly why he was so largely unaffected by the ungainly attempt on his pride in an area where he felt so naturally confident.
But he stared at Kefka for it, that shifty little smile unfailing.
"Are you through?" He asked, the picture of perfect manners despite himself and the vicious undertones that punctured his overall sweetness. "Besides, I'm afraid you don't know me at all." Contentedly teasing now, as if it were the saddest thing he'd ever heard, he gave his bangs a carefree toss.
"-Real leading men steal the show," he sniped, a glimmer in his eye, and the subtle, promising conviction that he would do exactly that. "They make their debut when the time is right ... energize the climax and leave the audience with something breathtaking."
Better, though, that Kefka didn't outright ask Kuja to play decoy, as he was more likely to cooperate in that manner as he saw fit anyway. Some strategy was indeed required if they were to play their cards properly, and so long as Kuja could play the way he wanted, maybe Kefka wouldn't have to kill him, after all. Or knock that infuriatingly smug look off his face.

"Bah. Theater is all flash and circumstance, no substance. But, after all, that's where I come in. You go play your little game while I organize the defenses here."
Kefka made a shooing motion with his hand, hoping against hope that Kuja would leave him to his strategizing, even though part of him knew it was most likely a hopeless scenario.
