Who: Anyone! Where: Several locations When: July 14th, midday Rating: PG-13 - R for extreme violence Summary: Lavos spawn attack the city! the log: ( fff sorry for the misfire, guys )
By the time Giovanni arrived at Gohl the creature had already figured out where the precious food was and had its attention focused on the living quarters. The Assassin was horrified to see it wiggling its spiny way towards the door of the apartment building. He threw a dagger at its back quite uselessly to get its attention and was surprised by the immediate reaction from the creature--and ducked to avoid a shower of spines that soared much too closely over his head.
But he had accomplished what he'd set out to do and was pleased to see the creature turns its head sluggishly towards him instead of the apartments. Grimly determined, Giovanni leapt from the opposite rooftop and unsheathed his sword as he stood. He showed no fear as he stalked towards his most unusual opponent.
Giovanni was fairly certain he'd already determined the enemy's one weakness: it was staring at him from beneath its spiny shell, inching its way froward as if to eat him. Giovanni couldn't tell how it would do that exactly but he didn't really plan to sit around and find out.
But Giovanni was a little hesitant after the counterattack to strike again. What if he got up close to strike with his blade and it preformed that same maneuver on him no matter where he hit the creature? It would hit him at short range without a doubt. Even he wasn't quite that fast.
He spotted Eald'narche off to the side, next to the building, and cursed under his breath. This was not the time for stubborn princes to get in the way.

Tir ran about to dodge another barrage of needles from the creature, rolling quickly behind some cover. It wouldn't last though. Nothing in the building was going to under that kind of power. He needed help. And a plan. Preferably both with some promptness. He couldn't even get close enough to attack.
It's hard to even get outside of the building like this. Yousuke's ducking right inside the lobby doors, watching the monster move-- How did it even know what's around it? It didn't have any eyes as far as he could see, but it still knew exactly where to attack. What was this thing?
But he does spot Tir in the battle field. If he could only...
"Hey!" He throws his voice in Tir's direction, seeing if he could get his attention and possibly collaborate. Souji was with him too, just a little bit behind.
"Hey!" Tir called out in return, but was interrupted by another volley of needles. Just where did that beast KEEP all of those things? Was it self regenerating? He could hardly tell. Not like he'd ever get a good look. However...
Something changed. Tir figured he'd no longer be the monster's focus, but it was one thing to notice it was turning and another entirely to literally not feel it paying attention to you any longer. What was that? It was... he didn't like it. And the beast now seemed to focus on Yousuke and his companion.

He knew that the Tenth would rather have him stay inside with him where it was (relatively) safe, but Gokudera just couldn't sit still in their apartment. Not with all the noise outside and the panic messages being posted one after another over the network. There was news of an attack from some horrid creatures he was yet to get a good description or video of, some people have been killed already, and residents were being evacuated out of Marshall and Latimir. Horton was safe for now, but there was no knowing for how much longer it would stay that way.
Gokudera couldn't, wouldn't, just sit around.
He couldn't use Sistema CAI because of his chip, but he still had his dynamites. Arming himself with as much of them as he could carry--and he could carry a lot, he wasn't known as 'Hurricane Bomb' for nothing-- Gokudera left the apartment to make sure none of those creatures got too close to their building. He would make sure Tenth stayed safe no matter whatIt didn't take long before Gokudera stumbled upon the Spawn. And luckily for him,

This was not the best "welcome back" present Cuddy could have received.
She had no idea what was going on-- the networks were panicked, as were the hallways and streets, and these... things were attacking right and left. There had been plenty of times in the city that Cuddy had wished for superpowers of some sort, but never as much as now. What she wouldn't give to be able to blast these little monsters out of existence for good.
... Kind of like that man about twenty feet down the hall was. They were attacking back somehow, true, but that didn't change the fact that sticking by someone who could fight was pobably her best chance of survival.
"Excuse me!" Cuddy called, running down the hallway towards him.

'Excuse me!'
Gokudera's eyes widened at the sound of her voice, and he turned towards it to find a woman running towards him. Out in the open. Luckily for her the Lava Spawn had ceased its attack, but still--
"What the hell?!" the dynamite expert exclaimed in Japanese, lunging forward and grabbing the woman's wrist to pull her into cover with him. This pile of rubble probably won't be able to shield them for very long though.
"What do you think you're doing here?!" he hissed at her, not noticing the fact that she wasn't Asian, much less Japanese, or the fact that she was a doctor. He did know that she was the non-fighter type though, and should be fucking anywhere but near these creatures.

Joseph was less startled by the rumbling of the building or the sound of the Spawn stirring so much as the fucking machine gun brought him to attention. It was that girl again. The one that had called him a chav. What an annoying little...
Well no sense in hanging back and licking his wounds much longer. He owed those damned things some payback for sorely ruining his attempts to be a big damn hero. And it would definitely take more than one person to fight that thing. So he hopped out of his window, falling not far from the teeny vampire.

Diamond-hard tendrils glinted cruelly in the noonday sun, a deadly sheen cast upon the tiny barbed ends as though a sense of anticipation thrilled through them. There was no initial reaction beyond the hideous gaping maw widening and closing with a clamp of its strange beak, and then a horrendous shrill warble.
The spawn gave a deep shudder as the spray of silver touched its shell, another more sinister sound raking its spiked exoskeleton.
kkksshshskshshksh!
A barrage of needles flew into the air, their sharp points coming down with the ferocious fury of hellfire.
'Tiiiiiiiiiing!'
Shash'sh'sh'shaaaaaaa.
A whirl of chain and silver bayonets whirred through their path quickly and the priest jerked them upwards, managing to deflect most of the fire-borne projectiles away from the ruby-eyed girl and the would-be chav.
He stood facing the gigantic monster with a deep, penetrating hatred in his eyes, a wicked grin fixed in place almost by instinct.

Oh yes, there was much more power there.
