Today was the first day of winter, although it did not feel like it with the temperature reaching almost to 60 degrees this afternoon. Today was also my last day of work until the day after Christmas. Four whole days off of work, and with the Christmas holiday being spread out at each of our family destinations over the next four days, I'm hoping that it will be a relaxing and unhurried holiday.
All of our Christmas shopping is done; so other than having to go out of the house for a few items such as juice and milk for the kids, and maybe a few items to eat for lunches, there's no reason that we have to go out to fight our way through any long check out lines.
At work, this afternoon, I wrapped up any items that will be needed from me for Monday's daily and weekly MIS reports, and prepped the way for things to flow on "auto pilot" long enough for me to be out on Christmas Eve with no real worries. I know that I won't be giving it a second thought. I've also scheduled myself to be out on New Year's Eve and the day after new years; so I won't be having to review next week's MIS or the monthly reports either. It will be nice to have a break from that for once. Tim does a thorough enough of a job with them that it's not really all that big of a deal anymore, but
I just get so fed up ever Monday with Wigton and others coming to my desk every 20 minutes to see if Tim and I have completed our half of the reports. In the 6 plus years that I, and then later... Tim and I, have been doing the MIS, have we ever forgotten to do the MIS? No. So why, week after week, must there be a parade of idiots filing past our desks to inquire about our progress every 20 minutes? .... Yes, it will be nice to have a Monday off from work, with nothing to worry about.
