Slomka plans with Abdellaoue
Good and not so good news for Hannover coach Mirko Slomka: While his top scorer Mohammed Abdellaoue, who suffered a cranial bruise, can join training again on Thursday, his strike partner Didier Ya Konan will miss 96's Friday home match against St. Pauli on Friday due to the knee injury he suffered in Kaiserslautern.
But Ya Konan's injury is a blessing in disguise. The striker strained the intraarticular ligament in his left knee. Because of a torn ligament in the same joint the Ivorian had missed a couple of weeks at the beginning of this year.
Norwegian National player Abdellaoue, who shot the winning goal during 96's 1-0 in Fritz-Walter-Stadion, spent the night in a hospital in Hannover. "He should resume training on Thursday," Slomka said. He's planning to make use of his most accurate striker (4 goals) for the Northern derby on Friday.
Hannover 96 sensationally secures third place after six matches in Bundesliga - a record in the history of the alleged relegation club.

A/N: And, because this is all so unreal to me and I'm not sure I know how to deal with all of it (this season start, having a starting XI, having a defense line that rocks, having strikers that actually score etc pp), I'll just dump a few pics from the first six matchdays here because this team? Took me by surprise. On all accounts. So, here:
