Football-Bundesliga club Werder Bremen will travel to the Champions-League match next Wednesday to the titleholder Inter Mailand (20.45 o'clock, SAT1 and Sky live) with serious personell troubles. Team captain Torsten Frings, Striker Claudio Pizarro and right back Defender Clemens Fritz are three more drop outs coach Thomas Schaaf has to lament. The trio probably won't be available either for the next Bundesliga match against Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday.

"It hits us hard that those injuries came up. Especially considering the next task those drop outs mean a loss of quality for our team", says Schaaf. "We hope that all three are available again as fast as possible. But there is the risk that they will miss the next two matches."

Fritz and the just recently from a similar injury recovered Pizarro each contracted a rupture of a muscle fibre in their thigh during the match against Hamburger SV (3:2) on Saturday. Frings is troubled by a haematoma around the area of the hip bone. Besides this trio Werder also misses Sebastian Boenisch (knee-operation), Petri Pasanan (sprained ligament) and Naldo (knee trouble).
