Since I will be almost 60 when the official celebration of the reunification will be back in Dresden in 16 years, I want to see and do as much as possible

They might have brought in those Townmusicians from Gießen because we have the exact model here in Gießen,it's standing in front of a school close where I live. Why they have it is beyond me tho lol
It's not over yet - that was only the pre-show ;) Tomorrow is the actual public holiday and politicans like Angela Merkel will come and give speeches. Unfortunately it is also supposed to rain.
Yes, I had a full weekend! Some more pictures to come from yesterday. Sadly it was raining all day long but people still ventured out into the city with raincapes and umbrellas.
Usually I am standing at the roadside when a marching band comes in a parade, and it is over within seconds. But here I walked along all the way, enjoying the music and also it was great seeing all the smiley faces of people standing and waving and photographing. A waitress was drumming along on her tablet. Great times!
Yeah, despite of the rain we made the best out of it! I will be 59 when it comes back in 16 years so I didn't want to miss anything. Still I did not manage to see everything that was offered.
These are only the Saturday pictures, I have some more to share from Monday. Once Kirk and Spock have finished their Germany trip ;)

What's the name of the school? Maybe it has something to do with that?
Or maybe Gießen is in a partnership with Bremen? Like Dresden is with Hamburg?
I like it though. Very different and unique and artsy. Speaking of Bremen musicians, I don't think you know these already ;) http://dieastra.livejournal.com/99777.html

I had medicine balls at school, too. Still don't know why they're called "medicine".
