Dressed in his usual doctor's attire of khaki pants and a polo shirt Pein was laying on his couch enjoying a rare quiet moment. He was home alone, his day had been mostly organization and he didn't have to go into the hospital. Life was giving him a reprieve during what he knew would be a hectic month, that and 'she' was coming. Hearing his

“What’s up, Doc?”
His reception was no warmer than she expected; he’d never been the hug and a ‘welcome back’ kinda guy, which was a part of what she liked about him. His bedside manner was shit, but he always gave it to her straight, and that was more valuable than any pain in the ass coddling.
“Hey, we didn’t get into a fight… We got into a brawl, get it right... And I’ll have you know I didn’t sstart it. Didn’t even choose the bar thiss time ( ... )

"Come along you have glass in your hair and knowing your vanity you would kill me if I cut it unneccesarily. Put your head in the sink, Naruto put on some gloves and pick out the pieces surrounding the tissue. I intend on working on this lovely gash that probably ruined Naruto's car upholstery with your blood."
Waiting patiently for his dictates to be followed he waited for the smart remarks, when none were forthcoming. Pein studied Tsu for a moment. Then he said something that was sure to bring her vitrol, if this didn't do it he was checking her in for severe brain damage.
"Come on,sweetheart, let's get you to the sink so we can make sure no one did any permanent damage to that lovely physique of yours." Pein smile in a sweet manner, and Naruto's expression went from worried to helpless amusement and bearly contained mirth.

“Good to know I’m sexy as ever…”
She showed no signs of discomfort at his attentions, craning her neck to give him the best access to the wound she could. When he mentioned that she had glass in her hair she shrugged, not particularly surprised by that fact.
“One of these days they need to sstart putting metal inside beer bottles. Make ‘em shhatterproof… Least make it so I can get em out of my skin with a good magnet…”
She didn’t mention that blood wasn’t too difficult to get out of leather; of all people, Pein would know that already. Instead she sat there, debating on how much this impromptu shower was gonna suck. Her eye twitched when Pein spoke again, scowling. Rather than hitting him, which she knew she was too tired to do effectively, see straightened up, leveling him with a look. After a moment, she smiled.
“Whatever you say, Devy…”
'You're lucky I need you to sew me up. Otherwise you would so be on your ass...'She pushed herself to her feet, casually aiming a half-assed elbow toward ( ... )

Routine as it was becoming, then, Kabuto only knocked perfunctorily before trying to unlock the front door-- noting that it didn't seem to even be locked-- and stepping in. He had managed to kick off one shoe before he stopped and cocked his head, blinking in surprise at the strange woman in the living room.
"Bad timing, sir?" Hmmm... He wasn't sure if this should be awkward or not, and his tone was level and dry-humored. Kabuto would try to roll with the situation as best he could until how he was supposed to react was made clear.

Naruto had briefly reacted but like Tsu seeing that Pein hadn't reacted at all Naruto narrowed down who the likely interloper would be. Kabuto was something to Pein. Naruto could guess what but he doubted Kabuto would take kindly to him saying anything. Pein wouldn't care, at least Naruto didn't think he would. Naruto made plans to tease him about it later, though.
"Tsunami you just had to go for the classics, but unfortunately I don't know what this one is called." Winking at her, to convey his amusement at the situation and his willingness to play along.
Pein gave him a look and Naruto could only grin innocently back.

Going back to his reading, Pein off handedly commented. "You may as well take the other shoe off. These two miscreants will be here for a while."

Something small glittered on the edge of the sink and Kabuto picked it up with the pad of his finger for inspection. Glass? He brushed it off down the drain and went back into the living room to settle down on the floor, unsure of protocol for these situations.
"Hello," he offered to the new pair with a nod of acknowledgement, his tone friendly enough. Kabuto wondered what-- if anything-- they thought of his casual entry and possession of a key. They had to know something of him.
