Just doing my civic duty, sir...

YAY! I just voted!

I'm so, so excited. I feel so special to be voting in Pennsylvania, too. If we win the state by only a few votes, I will have made all the difference.

However, we will win it by a landslide, so that won't even be in question. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. The turnout has been incredible so far, and I think the get out the vote drives and all the voter registration work will be wildly successful. Maybe I'm being blindly optimistic, but I don't think we can lose this election unless it's stolen from us.

And I voted today. *capers madly*
*claps hands delightedly*

Sorry, I didn't get very much sleep last night, so I'm kind of on crack. At the last minute on a crazy whim I decided to go on the 5 a.m. canvassing shift with the College Democrats and PA Victory '04, so I was up at 4 in the morning . . . but it was definitely worth it. It's too bad I can't keep going until the polls close, but I have two essays to write by Thursday, no excuses, no extensions -- although my professors were cool enough to cancel class today, so I can't blame them. I'm back now to do my homework, but I got in 6 hours of election work so hopefully I can live with myself for bailing out on the afternoon canvassing. (Many of my friends are doing 15 hours, which may explain why I feel bad for stopping so soon. They are definitely also on CRAX, but wonderful and amazing and I'm very impressed by them all).

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

ETA: A yard sign *almost* convinced me to vote Republican, but not quite. ;) But this is just the cutest thing ever. I don't care what party you are, how can your heart NOT be warmed by such an adorable mascot? All together now: Awwwwwwwww!

ETA again: A blog abegweit showed me has posted the first batch of exit polls. As the blogger says, though, take with a grain of salt. :)
