GEP (Gratuitous Election Post)

Oct 18, 2004 22:00

Okay, I'm addicted to the election. The bad news is that I now have yet another way of procrastinating, namely, checking electoral-vote.com, reading articles on Karl Rove, Nader, Stolen Honor, etc., and playing with interactive electoral college maps (dude, I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who likes playing with little red and blue states and seeing how their candidate of choice can win! abegweit and I discovered that there will be a tie if Kerry wins Maine, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico and Nevada but Bush gets Florida and Ohio. However, if Kerry carries VA -- unlikely, but it's closer than I'd have expected -- he can win the election without Florida or Ohio! And while we're at it, it would be nice if Kerry won Texas, too.) The good news is that my U.S. geography, previously embarrassingly shoddy, is being polished up like a new penny. Or something. :D

I'm listening to a mix from etarip right now, and the lyrics "Let's paint the town red, like Carrie" just went by, but I heard them as "Let's paint the town red, like Kerry." And my first thought was "NO, let's paint the town BLUE!" >.<

Also, new icon! From a picture posted here. Er...don't click if you hate Kerry? Although it's kind of too late, since you've already seen the icon. Sorry. :P

Now it's homework time: sketching Trojan women, reading 17th century Spanish romance novels, writing a poli sci midterm, and preparing a presentation on La guerre de Troie n'aura pas lieu. Remember, guys, the Trojan War will not take place!
