So I've recently been back at Alt.com looking for RP friends. Not because there's anything wrong with the friends I've got, I'm just an acquisitive chick. I was mirror_Tpring on that site for a long time, but very few people got that reference. Plus my profile was quite generalized. I was looking for any kind of RP. This time I'm on as OrionSlaveGirl -- a pseudonym that appears to be much more widely recognized. I'm also looking specifically for people who want to RP Trek scenarios. Hellohhhhhh email. Turns out that there are a lot of people out there who are into the green. Either that or they want to be.
But although there are a fair amount of Trekkies on site, the vast majority of respondents are not up to the standards I've come to expect from the LJ community. They're certainly no proudcockatrice or chibinecco . The former jokingly asserts that the corpus calossi of many gay men are so cunningly wired that most straight men cannot compete in the brutal arena of text-only Star Trek RP.
Some of the emails are inspiring. One guy's knowledge is encyclopedic. I'd never heard of Section 31 before and am gonna have to keep Memory Alpha handy if we ever write anything. Another , a twue Dom if I ever saw one, wants to do a mashup of Trek and the wonderful world of Gor. While he's totally incompatible as an RPer (see the redonkulous text of his profile after the cut), I'm now burning to write a story where nu!Galia is suddenly beamed to John Norman's wonderland.
