Not bad, not bad….

I’m actually proud of myself for sticking to the workout goals I set for myself earlier. So far I have done the Couch-to-5K Running Plan two and a half times this week. Why the half? Because I started it on Sunday just to give myself a taste. I did the 5 minute power walk to warm up, then alternated jogging and walking for about 8-10 minutes, then I did another 5 minute walk to cool down. Not part of the plan, but I didn’t think it was a shoddy first effort. I did the full beginner level workout both Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday I didn’t do anything, because our longer, earlier practice was that night.

Then this morning, Tiffani and I braved the cold, wind, and even some rain to walk for about 30 minutes. Not only was it wonderful to work out (minus my now wind-chapped cheeks, of course), but we got to catch up. I love spending time with Tiffani! I feel like she ‘gets’ me probably more than most people I know IRL. And we don’t get together nearly often enough!

Tonight I felt I had a much better practice than last night. I didn’t do as well on my timed laps as I would have liked, but what can I do, besides keep working on it? I did manage to push myself on some other skills I will need, so I’m trying not to be too disappointed.

I hope my new skates will come tomorrow! Of course, I won’t be using them outdoors till the weather gets nicer and warmer again, but it will be nice to have them at the ready. I don’t know if the wheels & bearings they come with are going to work.

I have some other stuff planned for tomorrow, since my additional rink workout didn’t pan out for this week. I’ll be flyering, and talking to a rep about life insurance that is guaranteed issue. I got a call today from my insurance agent suggesting we consider a life insurance policy that will pay off our mortgage in the event that anything happens to either of us prematurely. I’m not sold yet, but it sounds like a smart plan of action. Especially since it won’t be too terribly expensive, since we’re considered young.

And….possibly a purchase on the agenda for tomorrow, too. But that’s going in its own entry.
