True to myself

The holidays are well and truly over.

Family was visited.

Much amazing food was eaten off Mom’s pretty dishes…

Gifts have all been exchanged and opened…

Lots of Christmas-y goodies were purchased at 50-75% off…

More old treasures from my Grandparents were rescued from Dad’s attic…

And now the boys are back in school. The morning is off to a great start. Only a tiny bit of grumbling was started when we couldn’t remember whose turn it was to ride in the front seat. Why is that such a coveted spot, anyway?

I made a resolution (more like a promise to myself) to take better care of myself, and so far I’ve been really impressed with my ability to stick to my eating plan. Other than going only slightly lax for the weekend (which I expected to do), I have met or stayed under all my main eating goals: calories, fat, and, in most cases, carbs. I have NOT been meeting my less important-to me goals of water consumption, fiber, and protein. So I am about to have to step it up. Still….a good start!

I also said I was going to start picking up a new herb or flower every time I hit the grocery store (or supercenter). I’ve been doing that. Here is some mint, rosemary, and cilantro sitting on my windowsill getting some sun…

I’ve also been religiously taking care of my skin. I start back with FlyLady and exercise today. I will attempt, yet again, to install another blog on here.

I want to do a photoblog since I have all this webspace now. I have a Flickr account, but can NOT justify spending $$ on a pro account when my pictures are crap. That means that I can only see the latest 200. That is my mission for the foreseeable future….get another blog up and running.

I also blogged a good bit over the weekend. I know no one is around on weekends, but it’s just about the only time I ever get to really update.
