In lieu of a ‘real’ post
Current ‘office’ setup, originally uploaded by not your typical southern belle.
Here are some more photos. Some of you have wanted to see what my ‘office’ looks like, so here it is!
Excluding my computer, office supplies, and delivery of the desk, this entire area cost me under $100 to set up. It is far from complete! I still want to paint, reupholster the chair, and maybe repaint the desk. But I love it and it’s very functional as it is right now. What you can’t see is that three feet to the right is my front door (that round thing on the wall on the right hand side of the photo is the door stop/wall protector thing), and about two feet to the left is a closet, which I have claimed for my office and craft supplies. I will be cleaning it out and organizing at some point, once I have all the stuff to do so.

Desktop bill organizer….
$19.99. Target. Isn’t it ironic that, aside from my computer, the most expensive thing on my desk is the thing that looks the most used, beat, and dirty?
Mini file drawers….
$3.24. Target clearance. We each have our own drawer, for our stuff like mp3 players, usb cords, etc.
Photo boxes….
$3.24. Target clearance. Currently not being used, but I will definitely be able to find a good use for them once I get my crafty supplies organized. Or, I could use it for its intended purpose, which is photograph storage.
Mini gargoyles….
$2.50. Target. Guarding my photo boxes!
Monster phone….
$14.95. WalMart. I just love the stainless finish, and the retro shape. I especially love the horns of the receiver cradle! I bought this at WalMart about four or five years ago, and actually used it till we got rid of our land line. Now, it’s just being used for decoration.
Gooseneck halogen desk lamp….
$5.98. Target clearance. Not retro, but thrifty, and it works well enough with the decor.
