Mardi Gras in Vero Beach

Mar 09, 2011 06:50

A few times in recent years, we've done the marvelous New Orleans scene (as well as, in the 90's, Carnival in Brazil). And, though other southern states also celebrated Mardi Gras yesteday, Florida doesn't do much about it.

Happily, our favorite Vero Beach restaurant is, not for nothing, called "The French Quarter." And they DO celebrate it there! SOOO, we heard some terrific N'Awlins music, had lovely wine (I learned NOT to drink "Hurricanes" long ago!) and ate wonderful creole seafood this evening.

We'd invited another couple; however, it was a "school night" and they opted out. But Joanne and I had a great evening by ourselves! I hope some of you lovely readers got to celebrate, too!
