This is a popular cake in Germany - a speciality from Frankfurt am Main in Hessen. Shaped like a crown in a ring shape, it's filled with buttercream (and optionally raspberry jam) and topped with caramel-covered brittle nuts, called Krokant. It's very tasty and always looks festive. You should try it. :)

So it's the day after Thanksgiving over here in the US and many of us have either leftover turkey or leftover ham - here's a good way to use the latter~

I'm going to Marburg as an Erasmus student (I'm English and live in London) in a couple of weeks for the winter semester (October-January) and I was wondering if anybody knew about the town, any fun things to do, good pubs/clubs etc, and also the best places to live. Travel literature about Marburg is quite thin on the ground :)
