Part OnePart Two That night, Carl returned home from work, and unexpectedly grabbed Haley in his arms and romantically kissed her with all the energy he had inside of him.
"Carl!" Haley said surprised.
"I missed you," Carl said sweetly, then kissed her once again.
As he pulled her close to him, Haley thought of nothing else except telling him she was pregnant. Of course something was telling her not to, since she wasn't 100% positive, but she wanted this more than anything. 'I'll tell him anyway. I have a good feeling' Haley thought to herself, then she spoke.
"Carl?" Haley called his name softly.
"Yeah baby?"
Pause.
"What is it?" Carl asked still holding her close.
"..............I think we're pregnant."
Carl stepped back stunned by the words his wife had just told him. She was pregnant? So soon? He wanted a family, yes, but so soon? Was he happy? Was he shocked? How was he feeling? Then, one by one, his emotions formed together as one.
He lifted Haley up off the floor and rocked her in his arms, "Oh Haley! We're pregnant!!!! I can't believe this!!!! We're pregnant!!!!!!!!"
Haley giggled, "Carl, but wait. I'm not one hundred percent sure. I just......have a feeling, that's all."
Carl held her even tighter, "I love you Haley! Sooooo much, you have no idea!"
"I love you too, Carl," Haley said feeling more in love with him than she had ever felt before.
The very next morning, the newlyweds awoke feeling happier than ever. It was the day they would find out the news. Good or bad. Either way, they knew everything would work out.
"Are you nervous?" Carl asked.
"A little, are you?" Haley asked smiling.
"Nah......." Carl lied, "Ok, maybe a little!"
Haley laughed as he continued, "But I know I love you more than anything in this world, and I know that the news we hear today won't change the way I feel about you or our baby. Whenever he or she may arrive."
Haley smiled sweetly as she caressed his cheek, "You really are wonderful, you know that?"
"Yeah, well....."Carl said chuckiling, "You're just one lucky girl, then aren't you??"
"I really am."
Carl grabbed his wife and kissed her passionately. As their lips pulled apart, he said sadly, "I gotta go to work. I wish I could stay home with you and wait for the news, but Mr. Billings pulled a meeting on us today, and of course it's mandatory."
"Don't worry about it," Haley comforted him, "You'll know soon enough.
Carl kissed his wife, magically changed into his work clothes, and was out the door.
"Good morning, Mr. Cooke."
"It's Maroulis, and good morning to you too, Sally" Carl said kindly.
"Right, I'm sorry," Sally apologized.
Carl smiled reassuringly as he thought about Haley. He wanted to believe they were going to have a baby, but for some reason, he could not get that unbelievably horrible gut feeling that something was going to go wrong, out of the pit of his stomach.
