Part One

When they returned from their honeymoon, Carl decided to be traditional and carry Haley in his arms.
"My arms are breaking!" Carl joked.
Haley giggled, "Shut up! I thought you were a big macho man Mr. Maroulis!"

In the Maroulis family, it was common for the groom to take the bride's last name. The tradition had continued in their family with the exception of Rayanne. She felt it was right to take Amar's last name, Larrea.

Carl didn't have any problem at all being a Maroulis. He would do anything for love of his life.

"I am a macho man! But after this, I'm beginning to wonder about your machoness!" Carl groaned jokingly.

Haley forced herself down and looked deep into his eyes, "Carl, You're the only one for me. Forever and always. Thank you for choosing me."

"I didn't," Carl said softly, "I was blessed with your love, Haley."

Haley reached over and locked her lips onto his. He made her feel so warm inside, and so safe. She knew nothing bad could ever happen to her. As long as she had him by her side.

The very next day, Carl headed off to work.
"I love you," Haley told him as she kissed him goodbye.
"I love you too. I'll be home around four."

Haley had the day off from work, so she invited her best friend, Tami over. She hadn't seen her in a while, so it would be nice to catch up.

"I'm so glad you're back!" Haley said hugging her friend, "How was Europe?"

"It was magnificent! I really wish you could have gone with me!" Tami replied.
"Yeah, well, I kinda had to get married," Haley said smiling.
"Yeah, yeah! Well next time, right?"
"Right!"

"So????" Tami began, "How was the wedding??? I'm so sorry I couldn't be here for it!"
"Hey, don't worry about it! The wedding was beautiful. Carl is wonderful. I really couldn't ask for anyone better." Haley smiled as she thought of her future with him.
"Yeah, you two always made me a little ill," Tami kidded.
Haley giggled, "You're just jealous!"
"You're right, I am," Tami laughed, "No, really. You two are perfect for each other. I know you guys will be together forever."
"I know that too."

"So, fill me in!" Haley said enthusiastically, "What happened in Europe? You've been gone for a month!"
"Well, nothing much, except....I met someone," Tami said happily.

"No way!!!!! For real??? Oh, Tami, that's wonderful! Who is he? How did you meet? Is he here??" Haley said practically jumping out of her skirt. Tami would never admit it, but Haley knew she was so very lonely. She needed to find someone who would love her for her. She always had a problem finding her special someone, and she had been hurt so many times in the process.
"One question at a time, doll!" Tami laughed, "His name is Erik...."
"So, he's not french?" Haley asked.
"No, he's Americanly Simolish, and he's wonderful, handsome, and brilliant!" Tami said in a daze.
"Oh, that's great, Tami. I'm so happy for you!" Haley said excitedly.
"Yeah, I'm happy too. He isn't here in Sim City just yet, but he's flying in next Saturday. Six days. I can't wait!"
"I bet you can't!" Haley said giggling, "So how did you meet him?"
"Ok, don't laugh," Tami said seriously.
"Oh no," Haley said chuckling.
"I met him......in the men's restroom." Tami looked away.
Haley burst out laughing, "Oh man, that's even better than I thought! What in the world were you doing in the men's bathroom????" Haley continued to laugh.
"Ok, see, I don't know one single word of French, and there are no pictures on the restroom doors, and......" Tami tried to explain but was interrupted by her friend's laughter, "Oh shut up."
"Let's go inside. I'm hungry!" Haley said continuing to laugh as she took her friends hand and led her into the kitchen.

Haley and Tami continued to talk about Erik and Carl over lunch. It seemed as though they had both found their true loves. Everything was working out beautifully.

"That worries me though," Tami said suddenly.
"What does?" Haley asked taking a bite out of her burger.
"The fact that everything seems to be working out. I just...."
"You just what?" Haley asked confused.
"Something will happen to ruin this. I just know it."
"Oh please, Tami, " Haley said, "You are so pessimistic. You've always been."
"Yeah, and I've always been right, too." Tami stopped eating.
"Yeah, well you're not this time, so finish your food!"

After lunch, Haley took Tami into the sitting room and tried to cheer her best friend up. She knew nothing was wrong, and she made sure Tami believed that too, before she left. Haley always knew how to make her best friend feel better.

An hour later, Tami said she needed to be getting back, "Sorry, I can't stay. I really need to finish my laundry, and I have to work tonight. Ugh, I can't believe I have to work the night I get back from Europe. What a drag."
"Indeed. Well it was great seeing you again. I'm so glad you're back, really. I missed you!" Haley said hugging her friend.
Tami hugged her back, "I missed you too!"
"Before you go," Haley said, "I want to tell you something."
"What is it?" Tami asked.
"Well, I'm not sure........but, I think I might be....." Haley started but was interrupted.

"NO WAY! YOU ARE NOT! ARE YOU SERIOUS????" Tami screamed.
"I don't know yet! I just have a feeling," Haley said.
"I can't believe we've hung out for over an hour now and you didn't tell me you're pregnant!!!!!!!!!" Tami yelled excitedly.
"Well, I don't know for sure!" Haley said, "But yeah, I think so!"

The two girls screeched as loud as they could as Tami squeezed her friend. "When are you going to mention this to Carl?" Tami asked.
"Tonight, I think. I'm not sure." Haley said smiling.
"Oh, I'm so so so so happy for you!" Tami said.
"I'm supposed to hear back from the doctor tomorrow, " Haley said.
"Well keep me posted!"
"Of course," Haley promised, then said goodbye to her friend.

She walked inside and prepared dinner for her husband.
