And Armand has been completely intrigued by this interesting pile of newcomers. He's actually been hanging out at the Mansion to see who else shows up. "Oh hello there, monsieur." He bows to Borden, quite formally. It's his way, and there is nothing of mockery in it.
"No." And on that one word his accent is probably clearer. "I've been here more or less for a year and half. Tis amazing how this place can change your life. Does yours need changing, M. Borden?"
typist: pardon the puppet for being nosy... he's ducking some domestic issues and encouraging me to procrastinate on my NaNo.
The laughter alarms Armand slightly. He calls in his Yellow Jewel pendant, which the silly boy should have been wearing already but usually doesn't. And yes, it just appears, this being a little bit of the "real" magic that people have around here. When he realizes it was just the normal kind of laughter, he blushes, embarrassed for being spooked. "I'm sorry, monsieur. I hope then that you find peace here, if that is what you seek." Though he's clutching the Jewel rather tightly.
His eyebrows shoot up a little at that, although making small objects appear and disappear... it's not that unusual. Not enough to make him stare for more than a moment, anyway.
"Peace..." His eyes flash haunted, broken. Half his mind is somewhere else. "Seek, perhaps. Hope to find..."
Hah. Not in the rest of this abbreviated lifetime.

"I don't think so. My life has changed enough for one lifetime, all within the last year."
ooc: Hah. No worries, although speaking of Nano, I should get back to my three four novels

But the heart-wrenching expression on Borden's face gets to him. "Is there anything I can do to help?"
