"Hallo there, you look lost" James grins at the stranger "I'm going to assume you're new here... do I assume correctly?"

[watchclosely]

"You may assume that." His eyebrows quirk up slightly as he slides the ring back onto his finger, his other hand pulling out a coin and doing the same exact thing.

It's actually pretty impressive, the smoothness of it, when you consider he's missing a few digits.

[stagman]

He looks mildly impressed with the coin-trick. "Well, good luck then, I'm James Potter" he holds out his hand to shake.

[watchclosely]

"Alfred Borden." He shakes the other man's hand, but is a little quick to pull away.

Just a little.

"And thank you." Although he may prefer to make his own luck. He's not sure.

[stagman]

"So what is it you do in the real world?" James asks.

[watchclosely]

Shrug. "I am... was. A performer. Retired."

That's one word for it.
