I have given careful thought to anything that was said, and everything that has occurred. I should very much like to inquire as to your stand on the issue that has come to the surface between us. I feel I should let you know that I am at this time unfavourably disposed to any arrangement that would consist of a number of people greater than two.
I know what our laws and customs say regarding the union between husband and wife, but I should much rather come to an amiable solution. I shall await your reply, and feel it is only proper that this was, perhaps only for the time being, returned to you.
